Buick Park Ave Lighting/Electrical Problem

Our 2001 Buick Park Avenue is having some electrical issues. The gauge lights on the dashboard don't work. (Other lights on the dash do work, such as the seatbelt light, check engine light, etc. Just the speedometer and everything don't light up.) The tail lights also don't work, but the break lights and turn signals work fine. Recently the digital compass on the rearview mirror stopped working too (which is less of an issue). We tried replacing the tail light bulbs, and tried to change a couple different fuses, but no luck. What could be the problem?

Not sure where the fuse is, but more than likely the fuse. Try pulling 1 fuse at a time and make sure they are all good. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 98 Buick Park Ave: Rt turn signal does not work

Hi you may have a poor earth connection to the lights or a wire from the lights is touching the car body or another wire.

Was the relay switch new that you replaced? the one behind the dash?

Is there a delay control for the lights? It might have been moved from the original position you had it in initially

I have a 1995 Buick Park Ave Ultra. The car has power but will not turn over. I was told by one shop that it might be the V.A.T.S. system and by another that it is the IGNITION CONTROL MODULE.

Make sure the battery cables are clean and tight on the battery. Check to see if the wires to the starter are tight. Try starting it in neutral to make sure the safety switch is being make. Also hold it up into park and try.

96 Park Ave has major electrical issues. ac, power

I think you may want to have the battery looked at first. As for that noise. you may have a automatic leveling and that would be the pump kicking on and off.

94 buick park ave runs great but with a light load it shakes, accelerates good and in park or neutral is smooth changed plugs and wires

Several possibilities having to do with the torque converter clutch and TCC solenoid:

1. Replace transmission fluid, use a synthetic Dex VI, do a complete flush with pan removal and filter replacement

2. Check all grounds related to the transmission control solenoids, clean them and ensure good electrical contact.

3. Rebuild transmission, the TCC friction material is worn out.
