Golf mk4 wont start i changed a fuse 4 the speedo now it wont start but has full power

    hi the fuse didnt pop my son nicked it 4 his car so i just replaced it with the same amp fuse now it wont fully turn over.do these cars have a petrol cut off button? please help

My immobiliser wont work,its been like this since i recharged the battery.ive done everything in the manuel and wont work.the car is fine it alll turns on nothing shwing on the dashboard it just wont let the fuel through to sart the car,if you can help would be greatfull.

Part of the Speedo on a Golf has a connection to the engine immobiliser If a fuse has popped it was for a reason Is there a warning light on the dash display which looks like an engine with an arrow through it ?? You need a man with a laptop and software to check which codes have ben lost or corrupted

    Questions;

    Does the engine turn over when you turn the key but does not make an attempt to fire

    Does the engine fire but fail to run.

    Problem with all newer VW cars is that you can upset the Engine Managment Unit by removing a supply (ie a fuse)

    Which fuse did he "Nick"

Where is the engine control relay on 1999 Volkswagen Golf Bora petrol
The ECM doesn't have a relay! It works using low voltage and low amps.

The ECM does have a fuse assigned to it though.

The wipers/washers/indicators/blower have all stopped working at the same time on my 2003 VW Golf Mk4. Is there a fuse that would stop all these working at the same time. Cheers
Check the ignition barrel. If this is worn and the key is a fraction past the normal running position (but not far enough to turn the start motor of course) then this may disable these.

These are disabled on many vehicles whilst the start motor turns to enable that to get maximum power.

There is unlikely a fuse that does all of the above.
