Conv. top is not working, even though the motor seems to be fine

1998 bmw Z3, recently purchased, nothing appears to be broken. The top simply wont move when the motor is activated. I hear the hydraulic pump working, but I get no responce from the top.

Make sure the arm is connected from the conv. top motor to the convetible top. It is located behind the drivers seat by the door jam.

go to auto parts store and buy mirror replacement kit it has glue in it be sure to follow instruction on package and be sure to clean wind shield with rubbing achacol before using glue

Convertible top

they are runon hydraulics you may have a leak in the hose but yes u can disconnect the motor and raise and lower it maunally

BMW Z3 SPORTS CAR 1998

its the dreaded seat rock syndrome, plenty of fixes on the forums, basically you have to replace spacers in set drive mechanism. I did with the help of a friend after ordring bushes and it was quite easy.
