As of mid August the ignition was recalled by GM. Go to https://recalls.gm.com/#/ enter your vin and see if it is part of the recall. You may get it replaced for free at the dealership.

SOURCE: key stuck in ignition halfway to ACC position and will not turn

try wd40 and shaking the key, what happens is one of the tumblers get stuck and wont let the key turn if that dosnt work let me know worst case you will have to replace the ignition its about $35 to $40 and a few hours.

You have a bad lock cylinder. the tumblers inside dropped. you will have to replace the cylinder

SOURCE: Radio wont turn off after key is removed and open

I have the same problem. I found that the stick shift wasn't locked in park possion. Once I locked it and turned the key to off the radio turned off.

to override the shift gear , remove the little plastic cap on the console near the shifter. Put your foot on the brake. Use a small screwdriver and depress the tang with the screwdriver while shifting out of park.. You should be good to go. You will have to do this each time you start out till you get it fixed

Hi there sorry for my english hope you will understand me.

About your key problem .. have you notice that you can remove the key while the engine is running ? I guess that you probably removed it too early while stopping the engine , get the tip of the key in it and move it both direction with one hand while shaking the steering wheel in both directions with the other hand. It sounds weird but it will probably unlock the key barrel....be patient and try couple of times

If it don't work out it is stock and will need replacement , it is a common problem with saturn...

Key wont come out of ignition
I fix this all the time. Remove the dash cover around the ignition. On the ingnition cyl. there is a small linkage control that you can remove, disconnect the wires and unscrew that piece, turn your key to off position and remove. Those wear out, but it's linked to the park selection on your shift electroniclyy (you got this for free, I charge 100 to do that normally)

How do I remove the ignition lock cylinder from a 2003 Saturn Vue for rekeying?
REMOVAL
  1. Disable SIR system. (Refer to "SIR Disable/Enable Procedure (For Frontal and Curtain Inflators)".
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  3. Remove lock cylinder bezel from steering column shroud by carefully prying with thin blade screwdriver.
  4. Remove shroud fasteners and remove steering column upper and lower shroud panels.
  5. Insert key into ignition lock cylinder and rotate to RUN position. Then rotate ignition cylinder back to ACC position.
  6. Depress locking button on side of ignition module assembly with a thin pick-type tool. Slide lock cylinder assembly from ignition module.
INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: Actuator blade within ignition module housing must be in ACC position to install lock cylinder assembly. If rotated, replace it to ACC position, using needle nose pliers.

  1. Insert key into ignition lock cylinder and install into ignition module.
  2. Install steering column upper and lower shrouds and shroud fasteners.
  3. Install lock cylinder bezel.
  4. Connect negative battery cable.
  5. Enable the SIR system. (Refer to "SIR Disable/Enable Procedure (For Frontal and Curtain Inflators)".

I have 2003 sature vue with 91,543 miles
more then likely, you have 1 or 2 bad cv axles. I have seen them completely seperate-making it look like you dropped a transmission...otherwise,..ck' for bad wheel bearings..it will give you a vibration on floor board all the time strt. down the road...temp guage is a diff. issue- thermostat in need,.but only buy stats at dealer or NAPA...kev-mn.

1. Try putting the gear shift in neutral and then attempt to start. If your VUE starts, replace the neutral safety switch.

2. Turn on the headlights and attempt to start while someone is watching for the lights to dim. If the lights dim while trying to start, remove starter and have it tested.

3. Take proof of ownership to the dealer and have them cut a new key. There is a chip inside the key, that when it's inoperative, will let you turn the key to the start position, but vehicle will not start.
