Where is the fuel filter location on a seat leon s 1.4 litre petrol

Hi. I am trying to locate the fuel filter on my seat leon (petrol). The warning light (excess of polution)came on when the car was very low on fuel. It started running rough, especially at lower rpm's. Will changing the fuel filter solve this problem? Thanks, Joe

The light is not due to any clogged filter issue, you have an engine fault in one of the sensors most likely.

Speedo needle doesn't move, petrol gauge moves up and down, low fuel light comes on and off, rev needle and temp work. Rear fog lights light comes on dash when evan side lights switched on

Probably a break inside wiring loom of one/more of the three wires that eventually connect to the speed sensor on top of gearbox. The break I fixed in my 2003 Leon 1.6SX was in the loom under battery tray. My symptoms were no speedo working, and erratic fuel guage (particulary when under 1/2 full). I repaired one broken wire.

I cant find my fuel filter on my 91 model landcruiser 4 litre petrol

Hope this helps, it it does please leave feedback and vote Thank You and Good Luck

  1. Locate the fuel filter in the right rear portion of the engine compartment.
  2. If vehicle has been operated within an hour, the fuel system is probably under pressure and requires caution when removing filter union bolts.
  3. Slowly loosen the filter union bolts. Some gasoline may escape, so ensure that the potential for fire is minimized.
  4. Remove the union bolts and four gaskets.
  5. Loosen filter clamp and slip filter from clamp.

I HAVE A AUDI A6 2.8 PETROL MANUAL. I RECENTLY RAN OUT OF PETROL AND NOW EVEN AFTER PUTTING 15 LITRES IN THE TANK IT STILL WONT START

try quick start to get it started. Alot of times when you run out of fuel the pump looses its prime. If you cant get it started you may of overheated the fuel pump by allowing it to run dry. Try smacking the gas tank hard a few times, this sometimes frees up the pump if its stuck.

PETROL FILTER LOCATION

Hi,

I am assuming you would want to know the placement of the fuel filter. It actually depends if your Elentra is a Sedan or Wagon.
To my knowledge a 99 Hyundai Elentra has an inline fuel filter. It is located in the engine bay right against the firewall. It could either be on the driver side or the passenger side. It looks like a small canister with tubing connectors at the top and bottom. It is normally held by a clamp.. It maybe necessary to remove the air filter box to have easy access on removal of the fuel filter. It is a sound practice to relieve the fuel pressure prior to fuel filter removal.

If on the other hand, you are seeking locations where you can purchase a fuel filter for your 1999 Elentra, pls try here, here, here or even eBay for a start.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

1994 Volvo 960 engine cuts off at high speeds

It sounds like a fuel problem as opposed to an electrical fault. Start with the easiest fixes first ..
The next time the car comes to a grinding halt quickly remove the petrol filler cap and listen for air rushing into the tank. If you can hear air rushing into the tank that means a vacuum has been created inside it.

There are 2 causes of a vacuum inside the petrol tank. One is that the air-valve in the filler cap is blocked (there's usually holes in the filler cap covered by a rubber type ring) and the other is that the breather tube from the tank to atmosphere becomes blocked with dirt and debris thrown up by the roadwheels. Try driving the car with the fuel cap removed or very loose so that air can easily enter the tank. If the car still comes to a halt with the same symptoms, then there isn't a vacuum being caused within the tank.

A failing fuel pump can cause the same problems. I once owned a VW that had the symptoms you describe. The in-tank fuel pump was 'on its last legs' and when replaced the car was perfect.

A blocked fuel filter can also cause the same problems.

Here in the UK the Volvo 960 is either a straight-six 2.5 litre or 3 litre engine. I would guess that Volvos in North America share a pretty much the same mechanical layout depsite model differences. A UK 960 has two fuel pumps. One is located within the fuel tank and is accessed via an inspection plate behind the rear passenger seats (estate/station wagon models). The other fuel pump sits in a bracket underneath the car alongside the fuel filter, just aft of the front passenger seat (driver seat in the US..).

The in-tank fuel pump does most of the work, lifting the fuel out of the tank. The under-car pump lifts the fuel to the engine (it shares the same fuel line). Start with the easiest fixes first - is there a vaccuum in the tank that 'slows'/'holds back' the fuel? Then look at the fuel filter which is supposed to be changed every 40,000 miles.

If it's of any use to you, I've put some photos of the fuel pumps and fuel filter on my own website - www.glennsmart.btinternet.co.uk Just choose 'Volvo 960' from the drop-down menu.
