Hello, To get this light to go out and stay out you are going to have codes read by a scanner, when you get the code you will have to diagnose the system and repair /replace the component that is causing the problem. hope this will help you.
When the problem is a vacuum leak you also have troubles at idle.
The vacuum can be tested using an hand tool gauge like this.
Vacuum/Fuel Pump Tester Kit Once you find the leak, replace the leaking part. Often it is easy to find the leak at a glance, as it is hissing or you notice the air out from the leak. Other techniques are pumping smoke inside vacuum or spreading soapy water on vacuum lines. check also the EGR valve. If you need the vacuum system diagram purchase a repair manual like this one : 2000 Cadillac SeVille STS Repair Manual on CDROM . Here also a free tutorial on vacuum problems. Regards.
that system has a pump, you should hear it run when you start the car. it also has a bleed valve. i have seen the valve get stuck before. i don't remember what year caddillac stopped putting the suspension switch in the trunk, but if the switch has been turned off the light will remain on as well. there is a level sensor under the rear of the car connected to the suspension you can try to disconnect the arm and manually move it and see if the pump kicks on. there is a few second delay before you hear the pump. if the fuses are good and the switch is on check for voltage at the pump when you move the level sensor. check for signal from the sensor. if pump runs and shock don't air up check for air leaks with soap water spray, and/or air bypassing valve. hope i helped you...dustang
maybe there is a leak in the system and the pump is constantly trying to compensate. if the vehicle sits for a day or so, will the suspension sag in a certain spot? maybe a leveling sensor. may have to be diagnosed with scan tool
air ride pumps up and ride rough
