SOURCE: 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo problems

It should be noted that I personally do not own this car; my grandparents do. I've had the pleasure of driving it on a number of occasions though, and as I was the one who recommended it to them, I try to keep up on whether anything has gone wrong with it or not. And, to the best of my knowledge the car has been completely flawless. No reliability problems at all.

SOURCE: Windscreen wiper problem

The left and right wiper are on the same fuse and same switch, as well as the same wiper motor. That being said- if one works and the other doesn't, the fault lies with the wiper motor itself, or with the wiper shaft (where the arm connects to the motor.)

A wiper motor has 2 output shafts that either wiper arm connects to. At the base of your left wiper arm is a small cap. (there's one on the right side too, but let it be since it is working!) Remove this and unbolt the wiper arm from the output shaft and pull outwards to remove it.

When you examine the assembly you will notice that the wiper arm and output shaft are splined, which allows the rotational movement of the output shaft to be transferred to the wiper arm. It is common for the contact area of these splines to become damaged. This is often caused by excessive drag on the wiper arm and blade. (ie running the wipers over a dry windshield, or trying to unstick a wiper blade that is frozen to the windshield)

The 1st test is to turn on the wipers and observe the now exposed wiper shaft. Does it spin at all? If it does then problem is damaged splines on the wiper arm. (the arm is made of much softer metal than the output shaft, which makes it easier to repair this problem.)

If it turns out that the splines are damaged the 1st thing to try is to clean them up a bit. I have had luck using a very sharp awl to trace the path of the splines. A locksmiths file is very useful if you need to reshape them a bit. After cleaning up the splines reattach the wiper arm and see if it works. If not the arm will need to be replaced.

Now, if you test to see if the output shaft is turning and it is motionless while the other side wipes away, then the wiper motor and assembly needs to be replaced.

When reinstalling the wiper arm do your best to make its position match the other arm. press it onto the shaft and run the wipers a bit to make sure it is where you want it before bolting it back up.

Push the wiper stalk FORWARD towards the dash and the rear wiper will start. Pull it back towards you to turn it off.

SOURCE: Porsche Cayenne 2003 battery removal Problem -

The spline socket that is used is a 16 point. You may have to get it from Porsche depending on the area you live in. If you are in a big city, you may find it at a local parts store. Either way, Get one and keep it in the car. Look in the trunk first in that little kit, it may be in there in the trunk area near the spare tire. just for info, there are posts in the engine bay, on the driver's side where you can just start the vehicle. There may be one in the trunk area as well that is used to start the engine. Make sure you get the proper battery. If not, it can cause electrical issues that will make you think your car is posessed some how. Let me know if you need anything further.

Hi, having problems closing the rear tail gate on my Porsche Cayenne 2013. It opens up half way when I push the key, then to open fully it needs another push on the key. But to close it only goes down half...

I haven't come across the problem before but I am increasingly hearing of modern cars thinking for themselves (as they are designed to do), the trouble is they sometimes become disoriented and feeling they must try and behave normally they put 2 and 2 together and make five.

Usually it is a case of automatic windows that are closed before they expect to be closed and think they have encountered an obstruction and so go into reverse.

I think it needs dealer diagnostic equipment to reset these things...

Porsche cayenne radio don't turn on

Sounds like an electrical problem or a problem with the audio system itself. Are you having any other electrical issues? Check your fuses.

Sounds like it is more than just the coils that are bad. It sounds like you have some leaks in the emissions system.

Home link will not work, - when the cotrol button on garage door unit is depresssed, and simultaneously the learning button in the Porsche is depresssed, the garage control unit blinks slowly, then...

Try it again! i just did mine and it works. I took the remote and pressed the button on the remote the same time as the button in the car. It started blinking slowly and then rapidly as stated in the instructions. I then hit the learn button on the opener motor and pressed the car button two times. It works like a champ!

Water in the dashboard Porsche Cayenne

I have been hearing and experiencing some sort of reservoir of water swishing around in the passenger side of my 2004 Cayenne. The carpet is soggy and there is evidence of moisture intrusion when I open the doors. There is a film of moisture on around the lower door jams. Of course Porsche is nowhere to be found in this discussion. My beautiful car is now a camel and I can not findc a descent explanation anywhere. Your post is the closest thing I can find. And did the "garage" charge you to extract the five buckets of water? The folks at Porcsche have no idea and no one else has "had" the problem. WTF?
