if engine rpm advances (fast to 3000), and the car dont move
the tranny is bad (what part , dont know)
so did you get to 3000 ENGINE rpm and car didnt move.?
that is bad trans. its slipping
1: check all fuses
2: check levels of ATF in tranny
3: do the 50,000 mile full flush and filter. change and pray?
4: do the FSM stall test, It fails, bad.
5: step 2 in FSM after above fails, measure (gage) the tranny pump pressure. if bad pressure (2 tests) tranny is bad.

Hi, if the transmission starts to slip, shift oddly, makes noise or misbehaves, check to see that the ATF level is correct and if it is correct, get the tranny flushed, and the filter changed....
The most common whining noise from that tranny is the transmission pump. Sometimes they have a high pitch whine noise yet nothing wrong its normal. Sometimes its an indication of the pump being over-worked due to a dirty filter or fluid low. Turn engine on and check tranny fluid level. If low add to cold mark on dipstick, check for leaks under vehicle. If fluid appears very black or burnt smell, recommend flushing fluid and replacing filter (located inside tranny pan) yours will be a 4L60E type tranny.
that could be the problem, changing the fluid wouldn't be a bad idea. check underneath the car maybe an electrical connection might have gotten knocked loose on the tranny and needs plugged back in, before paying $$$ for a new tranny.
The noise you could be hearing is gear noise. The gears could be whining as they turn. It could be the gears on the planets/hubs of the transmission "guts" that would be to far gone it they are making noise to matter. The only fix is tear down and replacing parts. The only pin that comes out is the differential pin which doesn't usually make noise if it creeps out slowly. It will just rub it's way through the bell housing and you'll see a leak. When it comes out not slowly......you'll know(BOOM!). Neither of which problems would effect steering or inherently be dangerous, just leave you stranded somewhere.
If you plan on fixing your tranny, stop driving and fix asap. The more you drive it, the more it will cost in parts. If you plan on buying a rebuild and using yours as a core, then by all means drive it until it quits if you like.
