Try having the transmission fluid completely flushed using a machine designed to do this, a lot of times the shift solenoid gets clogged with small particles due to contaminated transmission fluid, it's seldom the solenoid itself, flushing the fluid including the converter may open the oil passage so the solenoid can function correctly.

SOURCE: I failed the emission test

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or wires
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s)
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Hope helps.

My 04 Yukon is not shifting properly out of first gear. Check engine light is on and the code that came up is P0752. Stated that a shift solenoid is stuck. What is a shift solenoid.

A shift solenoid is just that an electric solenoids that opens and closes hydraulic fluid passages that shift the transmission, If you have never had the fluid and filter replaced in the truck do so, dirt may be the cause here and often a fluid change and driving it awhile fixes the problem,

My honda accord 2003 V6 hiccups when I step on the gas, and the right signals do not work. The code P1259 came up and I was wondering excatly what does that mean?

This is an error code related to VTEC related Honda engines. I am sending you a little reading on that error code.. Best of Luck..

The Check Engine Light (CEL) is on. Trouble code P1259. Tests/Procedures: 1. Locate the Variable Timing/Lift Control (VTEC) pressure switch, on the back of the cylinder block, by the oil filter.

2. The VTEC oil switch is normally closed and grounds the reference voltage from the Engine Control Module (ECM) on the Blue/Black (BLU/BLK) wire.

3. At approximately 4000 RPM, and when driving the vehicle, the VTEC system should turn on. To turn the system on, the ECM energizes the VTEC Solenoid valve and it allows oil pressure into the intake valve rocker arms, the oil pressure opens the VTEC oil pressure switch so the ECM can verify that VTEC did turn on correctly.

4. The code will set below 4000 RPM if the reference voltage is not grounded. The code will set above 4000 RPM if the VTEC oil switch does not open.

5. If the code sets at 4000 RPM or higher, the problem can be a low oil level or pressure, or a malfunction in the VTEC assembly. Potential Causes: Low Engine Oil
Plugged Oil Passage
Insufficient Oil Pressure
Plugged Oil Screen
Insufficient Oil Volume
Malfunctioning VTEC Oil Pressure Switch
Defective VTEC Solenoid
Tech Tips: When the P1259 code sets at 4,000 RPM or higher, always verify that the engine oil level is full. Also, if there is an oil pressure or volume problem, always verify that the oil pan is not pushed up and is too close to the oil pickup tube, causing an oil volume problem. Be very careful when supporting the engine with the oil pan.

CODE P0755 ON TOYOTA CAMRY DX

DTC P0755 - Shift solenoid valve B
This warning is turned ON or OFF by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch, vehicle speed and Engine Control Module (ECM) (throttle opening). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position.

The P0755 code is detected when TCM detects an improper voltage drop when it tries to operate the solenoid valve.

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Transmission will not shift gears.

Possible causes:
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid B valve
- Shift solenoid B valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid B valve circuit is open or shorted

When the a transmission solenoid is malfunction, in most cases the problem is not the electrical part of the solenoid; the problem is foreign material obstructing the mechanical function of the solenoid or the flow of the fluid through the transmission valve body. If the transmission fluid is very dirty, it is recommend changing the transmission fluid and if possible removing the transmission pan for further diagnosis. Excessive debris or metal particles on the transmission pan could be an indication that there is a transmission mechanical failure and that the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Additional test details could find in this link about Repair/05/2011ne09/cip0755 (pdf)

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

Please, can you help me fix cods problems p0732,p0734 on my 2006 Mazda Tribute

P0732 - Improper Ratio for Second Gear.
P0734 - Improper Ratio for Fourth Gear.

This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by TCM as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor B: Engine speed signal from ECM C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (2nd and 4th) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

This malfunction will be caused when shift solenoid valve B is stuck open.

Gear positions supposed by TCM are as follows. In case of gear position with no malfunctions: 1 , 2, 3 and 4 positions In case of gear position with shift solenoid valve B stuck open: 4* , 3, 3 and 4 positions to each gear position above.

Symptoms: Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Diagnostic trouble code A/T 2ND GR FNCTN with CONSULT-II or P0732 without CONSULT-II is detected when A/T cannot be shifted to the 2nd gear position even if electrical circuit is good.

Possible Causes:
- Shift solenoid valve B
- Each clutch
- Hydraulic control circuit

P3400 - What is the corrective action to take?

DTC P3400 - Cylinder Deactivation System

It most certainly is not normal for one cylinder to shut off. I would think it would have to be one of the MDS cylinders, which are 1, 4, 6, or 7. Here is what he shop manual says about DTC, P3400. In any case, you're still under waranty, so I'd let the dealer worry about it. If it is a solenoid problem, the intake manifold has to come off. In any case, it shouldn't require a major engine teardown. Let us know what they find.

P3400-MDS RATIONALITY BANK 1
For a complete wiring diagram Refer to Section 8W.
Theory of Operation
When all criteria has been met, power is supplied to each MDS Solenoid when the engine is making a transition
from 8 cylinder mode to 4 cylinder mode. By actuating the solenoid, oil pressure is raised to the pair of lifters that
coincide with each particular solenoid. The oil pressure pushes in the locking pins that allows the lifter to collapse,
decoupling the valves and camshaft.
² When Monitored:
Transition from 4 to 8cylinder mode.
² Set Condition:
O2 sensor readings on Bank 1 side indicate a lean condition while in 4 cylinder mode.
Possible Causes
INSUFFICIENT OIL PRESSURE ACTING ON THE LIFTER LOCKING PINS
OIL PASSAGES RESTRICTED
LIFTER
MDS SOLENOID
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding (Refer to 9 - ENGINE -
DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING).
