Question about 1998 Chevrolet Malibu
I have to give it gas to start. then the rmps bounce and sometimes it will die if I dont keep my foot on the gas.
I would go to Autozone and ask them to check your computer for trouble codes. I would expect a Throttle Position Sensor, or EGR code to be present.

Testimonial: "I also had the ideal control sensor change I forgot to include that.I had it hooked up to a computer and it said that it was all of those things that I mentioned and none of it fixed the problem. Also sometimes my anti theft light comes on when I start it."

It sounds like either and O2 sensor (primary or bank one) or it may be a MAF sensor have the car checked at an auto zone parts store for stored computer trouble codes, this chech is free and should point you in the right direction instesd of just replacing parts you may not need.
