Cummins ISB 5.9 in RV ,seems to not have any power starting out

With Gas pedal to floor,it does not accelarat through 6 speeds Allison only slow .When does Turbocharger come in ? This is my forst deseil RV and sure sluggish c ompared to gas Engines ,What Am I doing wrong ?Nothing Cummins book addresses this condition .

Can you hear the turbo spool up when you try to accelerate? What color is the exhaust out of the tail pipe at idle and when you apply fuel? Does it have an injector that is malfunctioning? Is your air filter clean?

The turbo on those engines are not electronicaly controled. You have a boost or exhaust leak. Don't give up on a Cummins. Good luck..

Will a transmission from 2003 duramax fit in a 2004 duramax?

They will deefinitely providing the 2 are the same model. In 2004 the Allison tranny was available in a 5 or a 6 speed. Before 2004 only the 5 speed was used. If one is changed for the other there will be shifting issues and codes set in both the ECM (engine control computer) and TCM (transmission control computer). Make sure you are putting in a 5 speed Allison tranny.

ENGINE LACKING POWER CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID TRANSMISSION COULD BE SLIPPING.YOU COULD HAVE RESTRICED AIR FILTER AND FUEL FILTER.TURBO WASTEGATE PROBLEMS.

if the car starts then there shouldn't be anything wrong with your fuel pump. fuel pumps either work or they don't. it sounds like you may be having a problem with your mass air flow sensor you can try cleaning it with an approved aerosol spray or it may need to be replaced. hope this helps.
