Ball joint has gone or could even be the wheel bearing. jack up the front with wheel on and hand on wheel 9 to 3 and wiggle and then 12 to 6 do the same if there is alot of movement the bearing has gone. ball joint check all the connectors on that side steering etc if they move side to side easy then the ball joint has gone they should be stiff to move.

I have the same problem but others said that replacing the $25 sway bar bushings fixed the problem. This solution helped several owners so it's worth changing.

You have a hub/wheel bearing going out. You need to jack up the vehicle on each side. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in/out at the top and bottom. If this does not work then roll the wheel as fast as you can and see if you can hear which one it is. Good Luck.

Wheel bearings are likly and I've changed many to solve this problem but it's esy to pick the wrong one with e vehical jacked and on jack stands suporting the car by the lower control arms ( normal ride hieght) run the car with a driver and listen to ti run , of course theres no load on the powertrain so there will be some lash ( power on to power decline ) cheack up. The roaring noise can be isolated by puting a sounding bar ( long metal rod ( sr=crew driver)) other against the part till the sound is rounded up rear but possible the carrier bearings in the (rear end) front drive. The axel bearings and on some units the carrier bearing thats in the CV axel on the block. Sounding rod will find and change the noisey part. Professional help is a good idea if you can't carry this out saftly

Sounds like the noise is a bad bearing to me. If the ball joints or tie rod ends were bad, you would have irregular steering or in an extreme case, the front end would fall apart and you would lose steering abilities.

could be the front struts gone ,try the bounce test .i mean kneel on the bumper and release ,does it keep bouncing or front sway bar bushings gone.

There is something wrong with one of your tires. Take it to a tire repair place soon before it leaves you stranded. My guess: a tire has a big lump on it which will blow soon.

Knocking Noise from Front End Toyota Corolla 2004

Ensure the wheel nuts and Axle nuts are properly torqued to the specification. Lift up the front wheels, place supports under the car and do the following:
- Sit if front of right wheel, slightly move it right and left and feel any abnormal noise if coming out of it. If click-click or Tuck-Tuck sound is observed it could be due to the excessive play in the tie rod end, rack end, ball joint wheel bearing or U joint. Next hold the Tire with your one hand at the top and with other hand at the bottom. Shake the Tire inside out and feel any noise or play. If play is observed, it could be the worn out ball joint or the wheel bearing. Now hit the Tire at the top with rubber hammer and observe any rattling noise coming from near the center of the wheel. If you could listen to the extra noise it could be due to the dried up caliper pins. Grease the pins with graphite grease. If all is found fine, similarly check the left wheel and repair as necessary.

Front tyres bolding on the outside

Cars and trucks are supposed to have their tires rotated every 5,000 miles.
Doing this will only slow the wear on the outside of the tire. Whenever you turn a corner, the weight of the car and the forces of friction will cause the outside of the tries to wear off, the rubber is getting "scrubbed off".
Not rotating the tires will cause the outside of the front tires to wear out before any other part of any tire.
Then, there is the matter of worn "front end" parts.
The parts that wear most often and quickest are the tire rod ends. Next are the ball joints, and last are the shocks/struts.
When a car has about 100,000 miles, these parts begin to show their wear by causing bad tire wear.
Someone needs to check your car most carefully to see if any of these parts are causing your problem.
After all the worn parts are replaced, the last thing is the "front end alignment".
As you drive mile after mile, you occasionally hit bumps.
Although these bumps do not show up quickly, the bumps will, over time, cause the tires to become a little crooked, and about once every 3-6 years, the front end needs to be aligned, or have the tires straightened.

Cluncking noise from front end when pulling away / braking hard and some times when turning

You didn't say what make or model or year, but This could be so many things. Bad ball joints, bad control arm, bad struts, strut plates, bad CV joint, bad inner tie rod, bad wheel bearing, caliber , sway bar, . Not enough info, but if you put vehicle in the air and pry wheel around looking for anything loose in the steering components, this is the best thing to do, and it will give you a better idea of what's going wrong

that could definitely be your tire rod, and suspension would do that too check your tire rods because that is what happened to my truck

About all the advice I can offer on noise concern is to have a trained technician road test the truck with you and listen to the noise. Noises are hard to diagnose in any type of setting much less over this computer keyboard

1998 jeep cherokee sport front end clunk when turning left

This could be almost any front end part, these Cherokees have front end problems that will drive anyone crazy, even techs .
Take a look at front end components, check for any broken sway bar link ends, these sometimes break and make noise when turning or going over a bump, they hit other components due to being broken.
The first thing is to check the front end. there are upper and lower are bushings that wear out, these are tough to check, you will need to really take a good look at them for wear. the next thing is the track bar, this is also hard to check due to the force on it, but you will need to check it by watching it for movement at the joint end as someone jacks truck up and lowers it.These trucks are also famous for ball joint problems, you will need to check them. jack up one side about 4 inches off the ground and with your hands grab the top and bottom of the tire and wiggle tire hard to check for movement in ball joint, if there is play then replace them. upper and lower, if there is no play then slide bar under the tire and pull up and and down this will apply and release pressure , this will allow you to check for play in the ball joint. you will feel and see movement in ball joint, have someone watch the ball joint as you pry on tire.

There is a cluncking noise in the front end when moving the steering wheel front wheel drive

If you are only hearing this clunking sound when you are turning then you need to have your cv axles replaced. Also known as half-axles. In a truck, these are known as the universal joints. You can take your vehicle to the local tire/front end clinic and they will tell you whether or not, it is worth the fix.

Sounds more like a tie rod end is bad. Try a reliable shop that specializes in front end repair (any place but FIRESTONE). The tire wear could be due to the loose tie rod end throwing the car out of alignment.
