Hey i have a 1996 2.0litre turbo sti impreza, It starts fine and idles perfect but if i floor it in any gear it splutters!! Ive changed the spark plugs and it did not help!!! Can anyone help me???

Check the flexible air inlet tube.

Make sure it's 100% seal between the air filter to the intake manifold on the engine block.

Air rushing into the intake (after Mass Air Flow sensor MAF) will lean out the fuel mixture.

Clean and inspect for other air leaks on vacuum hoses and intake manifold gaskets.

Defective MAP sensor can also cause similar problem.

Impreza 2002 wrx spluttering and holding back when accelerating hard inbetween 4000 rpm and the red line any ideas

check coil, dist. and plugs; have the fuel pressure tested make sure you getting proper pressure from the fuel pump, check the fuel regulator make sure is not faulty. if all above check out, than have the air mass flow sensor check. air mass flow sensor measure the amount of air entering the intake and the computer calibrate the amount of air and how much fuel need to be injected from the injectors. faulty air mass flow sensor will throw ecu off from air and fuel mixture causing the ecu (computer) to starve the engine with fuel also causing it to sputter or hesitate when apply on gas pedal. if you have to replace any part check with ebay.
