The security light on my 1998 buick regal is on and the car will not. I had to disconnect the battery and reconnected battery and the car started. It there some way to reset the security code
Security code? or check engine light? the check engine light can be reset sometimes depending on the vehicle by disconnecting the battery, but you might have an alarm system on the vehicle, that is active so the car can not be stolen, and disconnecting the battery reset it all but the car thinks it is stolen, you may have to flat bed the car over to the dealer to have them reset the computer the right way.... hope this helps.

may hav a computer issue--disconnect the battery for a min then see if anything clears----if no change then pull plug on computer and clean the pins with electric cleaner--test for reboot by starting car--if nuthin then hav a diagnostic scan done at a private shop-it shows values of systems components to pinpoint area
I had the same problem when i was working on my 1999 Buick Regal and had to disconnect the battery. I didn't reconnect in the same way that I disconnected the battery from the terminal and noticed that the driver side had no heat or air but the passenger side did. I then disconnected the battery again and reconnected it the same way and now have heat and air on both the driver and passenger side. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
I CAN HELP YOU. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 5 MINUTES. RECONNECT AND USE YOUR KEY TO LOCK THE CAR. THEN OPEN THE CAR WITH YOUR KEY. THAT RESETS THE SECURITY SYSTEM. GOOD LUCK.
