How do you install the cabin air filter for a 2006 s-80 Volvo
Remove the passengers side lower kick panel, it's under the glove box. it has two T25 torx screws.
Disconnect the light and move it out of the way.
You'll see a large black cover underneath the whit a/c case. The black cover will have four T25 torx screws. Remove all four screws and the cover will come off.
remove the cabin filter by pulling it through the bottom.
pay attention to the orientation of the filter. it will only go in one way.
Reassemble the same way you took it apart.

It's under the dashboard. First you must dismount the accelerator pedal
(!), remove some dashboard plastic on driver side. The filter is
somewhere behind the central console.
I think it should be changed every two years. Look into the manual.
The
company where you take the car for oil & filter change every year
must change also this filter with no additional charges. Of course they
charge you for the filter, which is not very exponsive.

SOURCE: How to replace cabin air
This is really difficult... A friend of mine tried to fix this and it took over an hour. Anyway this is how he did it..
First take off the panel from behind the radio. (3x T25 screws)
Then remove the big panel under the steering wheel.
Then you'll need to remove the accelerator/gas pedal. To do this remove the 3 x 10mm bolts underneath and the 2 on top.
When there unbolted remove the gas pedal.
Drag the carpet back that's directly under the steering wheel to show the black cover panel with 4x 7mm screws that underneath. Take those screws out and the cabin air filter will be underneath. Replace filter and put everything back together EXACTLY how you dismembered it =)
