Replace headlight bulb

Hi,

1 Open the RAV4's hood. Locate the back of the headlight assembly, just behind the headlight. You should see a ring-shaped plastic cover.

2 Turn the locking plastic ring clockwise about 1/2 inch and it should pop off.

3 Remove the rubber grommet covering back of the headlight. Simply pull it out of the headlight assembly.

4 Depress the spring latch holding the bulb in place behind the headlight. This is a wire latch that looks somewhat like a bent paper clip. Press it down and move it to the side, away from the light bulb. It should come free and flip open, freeing the bulb.

5 Disconnect the light bulb from the plug. Replace it with the new light bulb, and replace the latch and rubber grommet. Replace the plastic ring cover and turn your headlights on to ensure proper installation.

To replace headlight bulb of kia pregio van: You only need Phillips screw driver and 10mm socket or open wrench. Open the hood, remove front grill with 4 phillips screw. This will give you room for your hand to pull out the headlight housing later on. Next is remove the signal light housing by unscrewing the phillips screw on top of the headlight housing then pull out the signal light housing and remove the bulb. You will see 2 pcs 10mm bolts on the side which hold the headlight. Loosened and remove the bolts on headlight holder then pull the headlight sideward. Remove power supply socket before removing it completely from the van. Remove bulb socket, spring clip, and busted bulb and replace with new one. Reassemble the disassembled parts in reverse order. That's it, will take you only 10 minutes.

If equipped, open the headlight access panel by sliding the latch and lifting the panel upwards

1. Open the vehicle's hood and secure it in an upright position.
2. If necessary, open the bulb access panel by depressing the latch then lifting. To remove the bulb, grasp the retainer and rotate it counterclockwise to unlock it . . .
   . . . then withdraw the bulb from the headlight lens housing
   
   
3. Unfasten the locking ring which secures the bulb and wire harness plug assembly, then withdraw the assembly rearward.
4. Disconnect the electrical wire harness plug from the bulb and remove the locking ring as well. Unplug the wire harness from the bulb and either slide the retainer over the plug, or remove it from the bulb
   To install:
   
5. Before connecting a light bulb to the wire harness plug, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
6. Install the locking ring onto the bulb, then line up the replacement headlight bulb with the harness plug. Firmly push the bulb onto the plug until the spring clip latches over the bulb's projection. WARNING
   Do not touch the glass bulb with your fingers. Oil from your fingers can severely shorten the life of the bulb. If necessary, wipe off any dirt or oil from the bulb with rubbing alcohol before completing installation.
   
7. Position the headlight bulb and secure it with the locking ring.
8. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. (If this is a combination low and high beam bulb, be sure to check both intensities.) If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.
9. Close the bulb access panel and the vehicle's hood.

Usually, one has to get the entire headlight assembly to replace the lens.
Is it cracked?
If it is just faded, try some anti-haze polish for headlights. This can save you some money compared to restoring the headlamp by replacing the assembly (which may be available from a salvage yard).

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

CAUTION
Halogen bulbs contain gas which is under
pressure. Handling the bulbs incorrectly could cause it to shatter into flying
glass fragments. Do NOT leave the light switch ON. Always allow the bulb to cool
before removal. Handle the bulb only by the base; avoid touching the glass
itself. Whenever handling a halogen bulb, ALWAYS follow these precautions:

• Turn the headlight switch OFF and allow the bulb to cool before
  changing it. Leave the switch OFF until the change is complete.
  
• ALWAYS wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb.
  
• Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass.
  
• DO NOT drop or scratch the bulb.
  
• Keep dirt and moisture away from the bulb.
  
• Place the used bulb in the new bulb's package and dispose of it properly.
  

Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring Convertible and Breeze

1. Open the vehicle's hood and secure it in an upright position.
   
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
   
3. Remove the 2 screws securing the headlight module to the radiator closure
   panel.
   
4. Pull out the headlight module from the vehicle.

5. Detach the headlight electrical connector.
   
6. Remove the retaining ring holding the bulb to the back of the headlight
   module.
   
7. Pull the bulb from the back of the headlight module. Hold the bulb by its
   base only; try not to touch the glass itself.
   To install:
   
   
8. Holding the bulb by the base, place it in the headlight module, then secure
   with the retaining ring.
   
9. Attach the electrical connector to the bulb.
   
10. Install the headlight module into the vehicle and tighten the 2 retaining
    screws.
    
11. Connect the negative battery cable and check the headlight operation.
    

Sebring Coupe and Avenger

1. Open the vehicle's hood and secure it in an upright position.
   
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
   
3. Remove the sealing cover by rotating it counterclockwise.
   
4. Remove the bulb attaching spring and pull out the light bulb.

   To install:
   
   
5. Install the bulb into the headlight module.
   
6. Install the bulb attaching spring.
   
7. Install the sealing cover.
   
8. Connect the negative battery cable and check the headlight operation.
   

open hood and head light bulb should be on the back of the head light casing just twist the socket to take out ,replace bulb and twist back in

Is this the headlight bulb replacement or headlight (assembly) replacement? For bulb replacement:
1. Disconnect negative side of battery.
2. Open hood.
3. Reach behind the neadlight assembly and disconnect the wiring connectors.
4. There is a locking ring around the back of the headlight assembly. Turn this counterclockwise.
5. Gently pull out the bulb.
6. Insert new bulb into the locking ring.
7. Place these back onto back opening and turn clockwise making sure it is flush and totally engaged.
8. Replug wiring connector.
9. Reconnect negative side of battery.
10. LIGHTS!!

1. Open the hood of your KIA Amanti and look behind the headlight that has gone out. Locate the round knob on the back of the headlight.
   
2. Turn the knob counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn and gently remove it from the back of the headlight. Carefully remove the electrical cable within the headlight housing that is attached to the back of the headlight bulb.
   
3. Locate the metal clip that holds the light bulb in place by pushing the clip arm straight in and sliding it down. Remove the bulb from the headlight housing.
   
4. Replace the old headlight bulb with new bulb. Secure it by sliding the metal clip up to hold the bulb in place. Reattach the electrical cable and replace the round knob to the back of the headlight housing.
   
5. Turn on the headlights to verify that they are in working order.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front grille and/or headlight bezel.
3. Remove the headlight bulb retaining rim, headlight and disconnect the wiring.
4. Before installing, spray some silicone grease into the bulb socket.
5. Connect the wiring and install the bulb.
6. Install the retaining rim and grille.
7. Adjustment: turn the adjusting screw (A) for vertical adjustment. Turn the screw (B) for horizontal adjustment.

replace the headlight bulbs. Usually when the bulbs blow out the low beam blows out first, but the high beams still work. If you want and need both low and high beams to work then replace the headlight bulbs with brand new ones and I garauntee that both low and high beams will work
