2000 Hyundai Sonata wont get spark

Well about 2 weeks ago my car broke down and apparently my fuel pump went out so i replaced that and then when he was fixing it he noticed my fuel line had busted so after replacing this part we tried to start the car and all it does is crank...its not getting any spark what so ever so he said it might be the crankshaft position sensor- ignition misfire sensor...could this be what is or will i be wasting my money purchasing this?

OK!... Tell you STRAIGHT UP!.. this is a GUESSING GAME online. Fuel Pump failure 'apparent'?.. Did anyone VERIFY it was the fuel pump? Unless you guys know what you're doing, you need an EXPERT's EYE and BRAIN on this one -- it could be almost anything!.. Does the Check Engine light come ON when this happens? Whenever the "Check Engine" light comes on, there is always a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECM (Engine Control Module). You'll need an OBDII (On-Board-Diagnostics) scanner to retrieve any codes recorded/set in ECM. Once you do this and let us know what, if any codes are set, then we can go from there... otherwise it's a GUESSING GAME! There are too many possible causes which prevent a SPARK (i.e., fuse, ECM, Wiring, ignition failure sensor, bad CKP (crank position sensor), out of time, etc.

Why car my car start?

there are 2 pieces to the crankshaft sensor...one is a little round thing that is mounted under the valve cover on the driver side. The other part plugs into this and the cable runs down under the other side of the engine. The sensor is inside the timing belt cover.

i had your problem a month ago and had the little round part replaced and that worked for me.

Firstly, what's a TDC sensor?.. the crank position sensor? If so, on the four (4) cylinder, it's located behind the timing belt cover at the crankshaft.. if it's the 2.5 V6, it's located behind the LH exhaust manifold on the engine block.

Cranks but wont turn over

you know. i took it to a mechanic and actually.... The timing belt cut the Crank Shaft Censor... So it was the crank shaft censor again. The wires were routed wrong from the first mechanic that "fixed" the car.
