My 2000 Cadillac North Star 4.6 On the dash reads..Check Coolant Level...I have installed a new overflow tank with a sensor installed...full of coolant, still comes on Can anyone help...Thank You..

There's a good chance the float in the sensor is stuck so use something like a screwdriver handle to tap on the tank near the low coolant sensor also check the radiator tanks for another sensor. Have you physically checked the coolant in the radiator (must be done with a cold engine) the recommended coolant is a 50/50 mix of Dex-Cool and clear water. I hope this helps. Take care.

Where is the oil pressure sender on a 4.6l north star engine?

Vary rear left side almost touching fire wall .You will need a special tool to remove and install it .Its a large socket costs 20.00 or so depending ware you buy it .

No. The 99 Deville was the same from 1997-99 and the front end changed in 2000. The 2001 will be the same 2000-05 and comes with or without hood ornament. Hope this helps.

My car leaks oil it has 181,000 miles do all north stars leak oil. look like cadillac would have fix this by now. north stars has been out 17 years. thanks

Access to odd numbered spark plugs on North-Star V8

To gain access you have to remove the ignition coil pack. There are only 4 10mm bolts holding it on. Also remove the cross over to have more room.

Follow the water hose to the engine block. Will be 2-3 screws to remove, thermostat is in the housing

Follow the OUT hose from the radiator to the top of the engine. The bulb shaped housing is the thermostate housing. Take off the hose, remove the housing and the disc like thermostate is inside it. Easy to replace and use a new gasket when installing.
