Need instructions I want to replace front brake pads on my 2007 Mazda5S

Sprinter Front Brake pads change out

Need to have them cleaned due to brake dust or have them replaced.
Could be metal rubbing due to lineings wore out on brake pads.

do not attempt any adjustments. replace the front brakes when they need it. if you try to adjust the proportioning valve you will lock up your back brakes and risk loosing control of your vehicle. you risk ruining the ABS system in your car which will cost you far far more to replace than a cheap set of brake pads. the front brakes do most of the stoping, that is why they wear out much faster than the back brakes. it is VERY IMPORTANT that you DO NOT attempt to adjust your brake proportioning valve.

Replace your front brake pads. They have a metal sensor that tells you when you are about 80% worn and maintenance is due soon. If you would like to do it yourself and need instructions, let me know.

The proper replacment proceedures for saturn aura brake pads front is to take off your wheels, unbolt the caliper housing on it. You should also replace the shims when you replace the brake pads, it's the metal brackets around the pads. The new brake pads slide into place. If i was you I would also replace the caliper pin boots with new ones aftermarket. My car had a warping issue and a uneven brake pad wear and this fixed both problems. Need anything else ask, the tire should be retorqued to 100ft/lbs when you reassemble everything.

There is no set mileage, many factors come into play. Weight of car, driving habits, where you are driving (highway/city) all determine how long they will last.
However, one rule generally applies: You will go through two sets of front brake pads for every one set of rear pads. This is because the majority of a cars braking happens in the front. Most pads have wear indicators, softer metal that makes contact, and sound, when the pads are getting low. Keep your ear out for this strange grinding sound. It's time to replace the pads! If your rotors are good and fairly smooth, then a decent ceramic pad will work well. Just be aware that ceramic pads will require a slightly greater paddle pressure. They will last longer, dust up a bit less and will perform MUCH greater in stop and go traffic...

I suspect that 25 dollars per axle is a typical cost for good quality disc brake pads.

Most of the stopping power goes to the front of the car. You usually go thru two sets or sometimes three sets of front pads before you need to change the rear brakes. It sounds odd the rear brakes need to be replaced at 22,000. havee the front brakes been replaced before?

Look at the master cylinder fluid level. If it is low, the red brake lamp will come on. Note that as the front brake pads wear, the brake fluid level will drop proportionally. If the fluid level is indeed low, you may need front brake pads, Unless you have a lot of miles on it, I doubt that you will need rear brake shoes. Also, if the fluid is low, don't add any. When you DO have to replace the pads, the additional fluid will be forced out of the cylinder and get all over your engine compartment under the master cylinder area . Brake fluid will eat the paint. Check the brake pads, replace them if the pad material is worn.
