When I push the gas to go, the check engine light flashes and beeps, It will only go about 15mph and starts shaking. if I take my foot off the gas,and depress it again it seems to help. what is wrong?

warped heads will cause this...if it over heated badly thats going to be the problem
Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.

all are very possible but you can go to any chain auto parts to get your codes read especially if your light was flashing this indicates serious trouble once you have the codes its easier to help you but it sounds like a misfire to me meaning bad spark plug,wire or coil.

1st, replace your spark plugs(for gasoline engine) or heater plugs (for diesel engines)
if this does not work, have a mechanic check the timing of your engine. Engine timing is checked in the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft.
