2003 Jeep Liberty. The car runs and when you stop it,some times will not restart: it swings and starts for a second and shuts down like it is starving for gas. I took it to a mechanic who said he did nothing but it started. Drove it for a day and it started shutting down again

If You want to reset the alarm on the Jeep Liberty then You will need to follow these steps. To begin You will want to get into the Jeep and close the doors. Now hold down the control door lock button for 30 seconds. Once You have done this insert the key into the ignition and turn it on. Once it has been turned on You will want to turn it back off, and then back to one again. This will cause the security light to start blinking. While it is doing that turn the Jeep on and the system will be reset. If You wait too long the light will stop and it will not work.

check the alternator out put on the battery once car is running and the battery voltage also
good batt 12.4v bad bat anything below 11.9v
with engine running
should read 13.8-14.8v bad is anything below 13.0v
