Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for fuel pressure regulator faulty and allowing the fuel to continually back to the tank and not having pressure in the manifold for the injector operation

Replace the idle air control valve. Mine just did it today the 15th of August. I replace the Idle air control valve and problem solve. I have a 2000 Expedition 5.4 liter.

you should probably check your fuel pressure between the pump and the fuel bowl. my bet is that is is dropping pressure to zero causeing it to shut off just after it gets running. and there are several things that could cause that but the first to check is a return line valve on the side of the fuel bowl. that when pressure builds up it releases back into the tank and if it gets stuck open you will not have enough fuel pressure to run your truck. mine just did the same thing.

It is sometimes difficult to determine exactly what is wrong with the 7.3L engines. Many times it is hit and miss for the do-it-yourselfer. It sounds like you are getting enough fuel at first and then fuel is being constricted. You might want to try changing the fuel filter. Sometimes debris becomes lodged in the fuel tank switching valve which would require cleaning the valve or replacing it.

Where is crankshaft position sensor located 1996 gmc sierra 1500

The crankshaft position sensor is located on the right-side (passenger side) of the engine. At the rear of the engine, behind the starter. You need to remove the starter to remove the crank sensor. Remember to disconnect the battery first. The starter can short against the cross member.

1987 f150 if i dump gas into the carbirator it will run but to turn it over it wont start

This is a difficult problem to solve because it seems like you have fuel that you can see and won't run; and then when you add fuel manually, it runs.

The TPS throttle position switch is suppose to regulate the fuel dumped into the engine..
You may have a dead spot on this switch. Another part, a crankshaft sensor, is suppose to report to the ECM about its' revolutions. The ECM then increases fuel pressure to match the RPM.

Since you changed the fuel pump you need to check the fuel pressure.ed

Does a fuel pump continue to pump fuel with ignition on when the fuel line is diconected from fuel filter The car wont start no codes found it has done this a few times this year it runs fine when running...

you have a bad fuel pump it's in the tank and only comes on in these conditions.
1. ignition switch turned to the run position turns on for two seconds.
2. same as above but when engine starts pump continues to run as long as engine runs. and the safety switch for blow out prevention has not been tripped.

Your problem is the fuel pump and fuel sock and the check valve in the pump. only one way to be sure and that's pressure testing. You hook up gage to fuel rail turn the ignition key to the run position look at pressure should read 40 to 50 psi and should hold for 1 minute, if you drop 5 pounds in one minute pump is bad and even if it started they could verify that the check valve is not holding pressure.
This is caused by the life of the pump by using gas with ethonal in it and your car was not designed for it, so it damages the pump and injectors and destroys the filter in the pump.

Check the ECM if it has the number 1228253 on it, this is what is wrong with it. Gm trashed all of these bad ecms. Get a 16198264 as they do not cause a cutting off problem . Get a delco ecm , aftermarket units will give trouble and may be a rebuilt 1228253 which is junk.
