Re: suddenly loses power no noises coolant light and...
Probaly lost fuel pressure, from fuel pump going out, or relay went out. Need more info such as, did engine stop running completly, or did it start back up etc. post back please.

You say when it "warms up". The symptoms you are stating sound suspiciously like a serious overheating issue. The engine will clack loudly and lose most of its power when the engine becomes extremely overheated.
Sounds like a throttle position sensor. It is a variable resistor that moves with the, "gas" pedal. What happens is it wears out in the position it spends the most time, say 40 mph. Then it can't properly report the position of the pedal to the car's computer, it looses connection, and the computer thinks you just let off the pedal completely, and the engine goes to idle. A slight movement of the pedal goes to a less worn spot, and the fuel flow comes back to the engine.
With the oil light coming on and the brake pedal being hard to press I would say that the engine stopped hence no vacuum -no power assist from the booster.- hard brake pedal. The lock uo feeling may come from the engine seizing up while you were still in gear
I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM MY 2005 PT SUDDENLY JUST SEEMED TO CHOKE DOWN AND PUSHING ON GAS PEDAL MADE IT WORSE SO I LET UP ON PEDAL AND THEN SLOWLYMPH ACCELERATER BUT I WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 50 MPH AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I CHECKED OIL IT WAS FINE I THEN PUT A CAN OF SEA FOAM IN GAS TANK AND DROVE SLOWLY A WAYS THEN SPEEDED UP IT RAN FINE SEEMED TO BE DIRTY INJECTORS OR FUEL PUMP. I WNT ON HOME THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON THE NEXT MORNING THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF AND IT HAS RUN FINE EVER SINCE
The car runs fine after it warms up? Is it running with the check engine light off? But it does come on with the key before the engine is started? If the coolant temperture senser is bad ( or disconnected someway) the check engine light will be on but the car might run OK at normal operating tempertures. Have the car checked for codes. It's OBDI so you might have to find a service provider that can ceck the codes on this pre OBDII car. If it turly runs good at normal operating tempertures and the transmission is'nt low on fluild then the coolant senser does'nt always turn the check engine light on if it's bad and still reading something but wrong. Truly running good and the coolant is full ( all the way). chage the senser and see what happens as thier cheap and easy to change with commn hand tools.
You may have a blown piston ring, valve seals, valve guides, cracked head gasket or a cracked block, etc... It sounds major though for you to lose power suddenly and have all that smoke...
