V6 The ignition switch under the dash has been shorted and has a diode of some sort stuck in it. Done by a previous owner. The relay gets hots after the car runs for a while. Both the relay and the starter have been replaced.
Bad starter relay in the PDC fuse box.
or bad ignition switch control output (crank key signal) to relay bad.
then engine may destroy the starter drive, if this keeps happening.

The windings in your starter motor have burnt out the only thing you can do is change the starter motor.Good luck hope that was helpfull

STARTER RELAY IS UNDER THE HOOD AND UNDER THE DASH.IT COULD BE THE STARTER SOLENOID ON STARTER BAD.IT WILL CAUSE NO CRANKING PROBLEMS.

If the clicking sound is coming from the engine bay, from the relay, you may want to have the starter itself checked out. You need to check if the ground cable from the engine to the chassis is secured. If that is OK, you may want to have the starter motor checked.
