Check engine light blinking

My mechanic said that my sparkplug reservoirs were filled with oil making my cylinders misfire. Clean all the oil and replaced the plugs. One week later light on again and reservoirs filled with oil. Anyone have similar problems?

You need to reseal the sparkplug tubes. this requires removing the valve cover.the flashing check engine light means the converter is overheating due to unburned fuel going to the exhaust.

The problem here is that after the clean out he should have done the valve cover gasket.

as this is how the oil is getting in the area that the plugs are in and getting then all wet and causing the spark to jump to the closes ground instead of going to the tip of the plug.

What am I doing wrong? Cylinder 2 misfire will not go away. Tried everything. Even stumped a mechanic.

have a compression test done and look for a moving valve seat insert
it gives the knock, misfire
as it is no 2 cylinder it is mechanical because you have moved the injectors and coils , plugs and leads and it stays at no 2 cylinder
If you want clean engine oil then change the synthetic oil out and put in diesel oil 20w40
It will not harm the engine as it is the same as petrol oil but with more additives than petrol oil
it is cheaper and has heavy detergent properties that keeps the engine internals clean
from the gunk in the sump ,it is clear that changing engine oil on a regular basis is something you don't do but if you want a reliable long lasting engine , it is must do number 1

I have a 2007 100 series landcruiser, the engine light is on then starts flashing, with this the car stalls when I pull up at lights and also looses power. When connected to a computer several codes show...

Misfire codes can be caused by alot of things ;bad ring in engine. bad ignition coil .bad sparkplug . bad sparkplug wires. bad map sensor (if equipt). to get a better idea you of your situation, you might want to post the make ,model ,year and mileage of vehicle and also the check engine code light codes.

My 2001 Chevy Silverado just got a newly rebuilt ******. The day i got the truck back the check engine light came on. I took back to mechanic and he ran the code. It said misfire and that truck was running...

did the code set for multiple/random misfire or did it set for a particular cylinder or cylinders?if it is random or multiple misfire you may want to check the fuel pressure and volume and for a vacuum leak. if it is a particular cylinder or cylinders then check your coils and also the compression to make sure the engine rebuild is good and something didn't go wrong.

My check engine light started blinking andthe vehicle is shaking

a blinking ck engine light means you have a catalyst damaging misfire. the misfire is also the cause of the shaking and probably low power condition. you need to have the vehicle scanned asap and try to figure out which cylinder or cylinders are misfiring by the code read by the scanner. if you have a po300 code it means you have a random cylinder misfire. if you have a po301 through a po306 then go to the cylinder 1-6 designated by the last # in the code to figure the cause from there. look for a burnt plug wire, remove the proper sparkplug and ck it. also remember to change the engine oil as there is unburned fuel getting into it every minute this condition exists that the engine is running. good luck to you.
