I replaced the alternator and the battery in my 97 Town & Country and the battery light still comes on. I have checked the voltage and confirmed the battery is not receiving anything from the alternator and the auto part store does a bench test on the alternator and it checks out. It's not the battery or the alternator, what should I check next?

SOURCE: New battery & new alternator, still not charging...

Take it to another auto parts store to test to verify.
If you put a voltmeter on the battery when the T+C was running, it should read 14-15V.
It could have a bad diode. If this is the case the alt. will be pumping out AC instead of DC. This is BAD. Batteries do not like this and the battery will fail because of it.
Be careful in those 'auto parts stores'. I have found that they employ alot of 'kids' who know little about how a car works. Try NAPA. They are much more knowledgeable and professional. But they cost alittle more.

2003 Chrysler Town & Country, put in new alternator, now have 2 lights on including battery and one looking like a pump. Radio won't work.

Hello
The reason the battery light is on is that the charging system voltage is below the battery voltage, this means the charging system is not working correctly, since you already replaced the Alternator for I assume the same problem, unless you got a defective rebuilt (which is poss if bought from Autozone or one of the other discount parts stores) the charging system problem is not the Alternator but lies elsewhere in the electrical system. Use a volt meter and check the voltage at the battery cables with the engine running at high idle (at least 1000 RPM) the voltage should be at least 13.4 to about 14.2 Volts DC. This is also most likely the cause of the light that is on that you say looks like a pump due to the low charging system voltage. As to the radio it is in theft lock, this happens anytime the battery is disconnected, you will need to enter the unique security code for your radio, if you are not the original owner this may be a problem, as the little card with the code and the instructions to enter it often gets misplaced. You will likely end up at the dealer who can access the Chrysler factory computer and retrieve the code, there may be a charge for this.

Battery light is on, battery is good, I'm thinking voltage regulator, maybe the alternator

The battery light comes on when there is low voltage in the charging system. You can verify this by checking voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should see more than 13.5 volts and I suspect you will see around 12 volts. The usuall cause for this is the alternator and since the voltage regulator is internal to the alternaor it would make good sense to replace the entire alternator will a quality remanufactured alternator.

Alternator has intermitent no output voltage 11.-- battery light comes on. Other times it has normal charge voltage 13 to 14 volts 2006 minivan

Only a guess, but you could put a voltage regulator
in it,if you can find one

You may have a generator repair shop that will sell
you one,or try an auto parts store

Unfortunately the days of the 1960's thru 1980's have
passed us by.

Now you get punished with a questionable
rebuilt, for several hundred dollars

Check ALL ground wires in the engine compartment
& I mean any wire or battery cable

Remove them & clean all of them

Why does the battery light come on? It's a new battery

On some vehicles battery light will come on when the battery is below a certain voltage, in some cases if the alternator is not charging the voltage will drop causing the battery light to come on, even if the battery is brand new, auto electrician would be worth visiting.

I have a 1995 Chrysler T&C with a check engine light and a battery light on. Initial diagnosis showed a bad alternator but after replacing, we have the same problem. Do you have any suggestion on...

You need to confirm that the alternator is putting out between 13.8 and 14.2 volts at idle. If not it will throw the light on. Form there it may be something like the voltage regulator in the ECU. Not likely though.
