If the problem is related to the clutch replacement, there is most likely an electrical connector that did not get plugged back in or a ground connector that did not get put back where it came from. I would also suspect wires getting pinched between the transmission bell housing and the engine block.

The best thing to do would be to scan the engine control module for fault codes. This could lead you to the problem which may, or may not, have anything to do with the clutch replacement.

hmmm... 80mph @6000 rpm is not normal. you are needing a lot of power to produce 80mph. it seems clutch assembly needs replacement. clutch assembly includes clutch disc, fly wheel, and release bearing. might as well check your clutch master if the vacuums are still working properly. this might be the culprit to the stuck up clutch pedal.

after replacing the clutch assembly, you can reach 80mph @ 4000-4500rpm

Well it sounds like you have done the right thing like replacing the lot not just a centre platr BUTwhat you have done by the sound of it if you push in the clutch and the g/box just grinds and wont look like going in then your problem is that you have the CENTRE plate around the wroug way as the part with the springs etc have to go into the pressure plate housing ASyou have it its jamed up on the bolts on the Flywheel
TAKE it off change it around and away you go But make sure you have bleed the clutch and it should drive 1" off the floor and if so then you have done a good job...Let me know how you go Ron

Hello mpolci...The 2003 Tiburon was sold to the public with a defective clutch, it failed due to warpage and bad pressure plate... among other things. There are MANY class action lawsuits. Did you resurface or replace the flywheel when the clutch was replaced? Did you go with an aftermarket clutch kit, or factory? Also the slave cylinder on the 03 was known to have a defective valve.
You can try checking the levels and bleeding the system and if you still have problems, then it could be a release bearing, a loose clutch pad, or a broken pressure plate spring....If the clutch is still under warranty, i would return it to the installer.

dear friend-the warrenty on a clutch is only 20 000 km,therefore you have to pay for the replacement,but 2500 dollars is a bit steep i suggest you get more quotes befor reparing.

why wont Hyundai fix it
you should get close to 200,000klms from a clutch my car is on its second and its done 352,104klms
Hyundai should warrant there cars they do in Australia
the only reason they wouldn't is if the car has been misused or used in an aggressive meaner
replacing it your self may void your warranty

it might be very difficult if you have no idea how the clutch actually works.
if only the cables, that's easy.
but if the whole clutch assembly, you may need special tools.
and if you're the only to do it, you might get confused.
