Yes, no problem. You can bypass the switch and hook them up to your own switch. Otherwise you can connect them via headlight switch, radio wiring or whatever you'd like. Just remember that they may turn on as soon as you start the car if they are hooked up without a switch.

Does anyone have a schematic for the fog light relay on a 2006 mazda tribute

Most relay's have the diagram printed on them. Make sure you are getting power to the signal post to close the relay. If not, make sure you have power going in and coming out of the switch. If your switch is operating properly, but there is no signal power getting to the relay, your issue is somewhere between the two. Also, check for proper ground at the relay and the lamps.

2013 Dodge Avenger fog lamps don’t work, but multifunction switch and dash shows they are on....where is the fuse located

Fuse 12--20 amp, under hood fuse block. Is there a two wire connector at fog lamp, if so, the black wire is ground and the other color is voltage, use a test light to check. I didn't check everything for fog lamp control, so if a switch, you may have to check that and wiring circuits.

2006 Jeep Wrangler dash fog light indicator does not come on. Fuses checked and multifunction switch replaced. No power to the fog lights. Where do I look next?

check fuse 19 in underhood fuse box. Check for battery voltage coming into the MF switch on the red/light green wire. Then check for battery voltage on the white/yellow when you turn on the fog lamps. Next, check for battery voltage on terminal B16 in the relay socket after pulling the fog lamp relay

Fog lights on all the time

Sounds like your multifunction switch (i.e. the stalk that has the fog light switch) has burned out. This is a fairly common problem and the multifunction switch needs to be replaced.

The part (as I recall) costs < $100 (about 80, I think) and takes less than half an hour to replace.

Fog lights came on; can't turn them off

1.At first take out the foglight's fuse before you battery is dead. (Fog lights stays "ON" even you leave the car).

2.You must replace the Multifunction control switch =(

Here is the photo of problem:
http://www.ptcruiser.fi/ptgalleria/albums/userpics/10010/normal_sumuvalokytkin.jpg

Fog lights are connected to pin 13,14.
Fog light switch is "B". Because the current is many Amps, contact surfaces are heating up.
After that the contact opening "C" is melting (made of plastic) so the fog light stays "ON".

2005 PT Cruiser Touring Edition light switch problem

Didn't need a switch after all. Seems like a wire had gotten pinched when a headlight was replaced. Took 4 years for the wire to start causing problems and my backyard mechanic found the problem after only blowing two switches. In the search for a reasonably priced multifunction switch, I found out that the ones FOR cars with fogs lights were cheaper than those without fog lamps. That pricing scheme seemed backwards to me -- more switch function costing less than fewer switch functions - but evidently more cars are evidently equipped to have fog lights than those equipped without fog lights.

Fog lights staying on

1st most newer car cars have a timer delay that helps light the area you are in for a couple of seconds. You may have had the knob turned all the way up on the turn signal switch. The same thing will happened if this switch is turned all the way up, the interrior light will stay on. Turn the lights on with the switch and see if the fog lights come on, do this without the car running.Trun the lights off,see if the fog lights stay on then go out after a while.if so you have a delay on the fog lights or relay. You may need to replace the relay only. Part $ 15 trace fog light wiring to relay usually under hood away from water sources.......runjoe
