2002 Buick Rendezvous no heat and over heated after warming it up for over 30 minutes.

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL over heated. I broke down a couple months ago from bearings in AC compressor going bad. The mechanic somehow fixed it with keeping same compressor in but ever since he fixed it, there's no heat. Sometimes it will blow warm air but then stops soon after and blows cold air. Have also noticed temp rises to over half when we start it and let it warm up for about 30 min. Today I let it warm up even longer hoping to have some heat, but when I got in to leave, temp gauge was all the way up and over heating. Not sure if it's just a coincidence but never had any of these problems until the mechanic somehow fixed the old AC compressor.

Have a pressure test done on your cooling system, you sound like you could have a leak in your system or your system just needs to have the air bled from it. Check your coolant level also, with air in the system and not enough coolant it will blow cold and cause overheating.

Thanks Jeff. I took it to a garage and they managed to get more than half the container of antifreeze in the radiator and finally have heat. The overflow was full, so not sure if it could be clogged. The temp gauge still goes up when it idles, but it's a lot slower now.

SOURCE: 1995 buick park ave. 3800 series II. After

Hello: The air mix door/temp door actuator has stripped gears and the force of the air by the blower motor is pushing the door to the Air Conditioning position. If you will remove the glove box and the panel under the dash and start the car and duplicate the condition you described you will see the action. you will need to replace the actuator. If you have passenger temp control then you will have two actuators, the one on the bottom for driver and the one on top for passenger.

Hi,
This is a problem with the heat exchange valve which will need to be replaced, this switches the hot water flow on and off. Thanks

I have a 2002 buick rendezvous cxl and my fan was working just fine earlier and i have checked all the fuses and they are good what would be causing them not to kick on and cause it to over heat

The engine thermistat is located on the front of the engine, top side, but it tucked under, so it is hard to get at. You may need to replace the thermistat. Have a mechanic do it if you're not comfortable with it.

Could be a sensor or one of the blend doors under the dash.

Fix 2002 buick rendezvous side view mirror

it sounds like the mounting bolts embedded in the mirros housing were pulled out somewhat. You will not know untill the mirror is removed. If the studs that hold this mirror housing to the door are pulled out take a heat gun to get the studs warm and twist them back in flush. them apply JB Weld to the studs lowest part to the mirror housing so they stay secured

Fuse location

There is not a fuse listed for heated seats but fuse 16 is for heated mirrors and fuse 11 is power seats. i'm guessing one of those should also control the heated seats.
