Hi,
What is the actual issue? If the fuel gauge is not working it could be the fuel sender, which may be in the fuel tank, and likely NOT an easy fix - unfortunately.

The fuse location will be listed in the Owner's Manual or dowload it HERE. http://www.vadengmpp.com/owners-manual/pontiac/1999-Pontiac-Montana.pdf

The fuel gauge is not fused, the whole cluster is, so if the fuse goes nothing works. You most likely need a new fuel tank sending unit.

Fuel gauge not working. fuel gauge not working

If your fuel gauge is not working, there are several potential reasons for this issue:
1. Faulty Fuel Sending Unit:
-The fuel sending unit is a component in the fuel tank that measures the amount of fuel and sends signals to the gauge.
2. Faulty Gauge or Instrument Cluster:
- The gauge itself or the entire instrument cluster may be malfunctional. Electrical issues, such as a blown fuse, could also be a factor.
3. Wiring Issues:
-Broken or damages wiring between the fuel sending unit, gauge, and instrument cluster can disrupt the communication and cause the gauge to malfunction.
4. Bad Ground Connection:
-A poor ground connection can lead to inaccurate readings on the fuel gauge. Check for loose or corroded ground connections.
5. Fuse Problem:
-A blown fuse in the vehicle's fuse box could disrupt the electrical circuit that powers the fuel gauge. Consult the vehicle's manual to locate and check the fuse related to fuel system.

1996goldwing trike tail lights fuel gauge temp gauge not working all other lights work

If the tail lights, low fuel light, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge are not working, there could be several possible causes:
  1. Blown Fuses: Check the fuses for the tail lights, low fuel light, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge. If any of these fuses are blown, replace them with a new one.
  2. Loose or damaged wiring: Inspect the wiring for the tail lights, low fuel light, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge. Look for any loose connections or damaged wires. Repair or replace any damaged wires and ensure all connections are tight.
  3. Faulty sending units: The low fuel light and fuel gauge are connected to the fuel sending unit in the gas tank. The temperature gauge is connected to a temperature sending unit on the engine. Check these sending units for faults, and replace them if necessary.
  4. Faulty instrument cluster: The instrument cluster itself could be faulty, causing the temperature and fuel gauges to not work. A qualified mechanic can test the instrument cluster to see if this is the issue.
It's also possible that the trike has a separate electrical system for the tail lights, and that this system is malfunctioning. A qualified mechanic can test the trike's electrical system to determine the cause of the issue.

Fuel gauge is not working. Could it be a fuse and where is it?

First we would need to know what make , model and year vehicle ? Going to say it's not a fuse anyway , instrument cluster has main battery voltage inputs that would power the fuel gauge ,not a fuse just for the fuel gauge. Most cars the fuel tank sending unit inside the fuel tank would most likely be the problem or the gauge it self is bad .

Is there a fuse or relay for the fuel gauge, does the gauge share a fuse with other electrical consumers ?

should be a fuse in fuse panel for all gauges, not one per gauge.. there is a fuel pump relay on most fuel injection cars but that gives fuel pump power . most of the time if fuel gauge is not working its the sending unit inside the tank ,wich if your in there might as well change fuel pump to.

1987 Chevy silverado gauge / idle fuse keeps blowing

The 20amp ga/idle fuse powers a hot fuel module which powers the oil pressure switch, the fuel pump relay, and the fuel gauge in the tank.

Can't find the fuel gauge fuse what code is beside the fuse

there is not a seperate fuse for the Fuel gauge, if the fuse was bad nothing in the dash would work, you have most likely a fuel gauge sending unit problem.
