Hello, I have a Toyota Avensis Year 2006 gasoline propelled (108 or 109 kw...am not sure). It's front & rear dome lights do not work. When you open the doors, the door indicator on the dashboard does not show up nor does the chime(sound indicating doors are opened). The lights on the two front doors and in the luggage compartment do not work either.
Check your fuses
Testimonial: "Thank you John. I checked the fuses and indeed the dome fuse was blown out. I replaced it and my dome light together with the chime(sound indicating doors are open). Also, the time is no more being reset to 12.00. Problem fixed. But the light in the luggage compartment and on the 2 front doors are still not working. Your help will be most welcomed!"

There is a problem with the door switch the door is not pushing the switch in completely. Here is what you do close all the doors, then you open them one at a time with all the other still closed. start with the drivers door. open and look for the pin with that the door touches when you close its on the bottom close to the back of the driver's seat it has a black rubber covering it. Press with your thumb in and see if light goes out. Check all other doors in the same way you will see which door switch is not being pressed in completely when door closes. If you find it a quick fix is to pad the area on the door that makes contact with the switch to push it in, for example you can use one of those round sticky cushions that you use on the metal chair legs to prevent them from scratching your wood floor. However if you can solve the problem in this way you may have to take it to electrical mechanic or I will be able to provide more help. contact me and leave me a feedback. Good LUCK

SOURCE: how to replace toyota avensis door mirror
If you have already purchased the replacement part; remove the door panel. Behind the mirror there will be three 10mm. Remove the bolts and replace the mirror.

Forgot to mention that the clock is reset to 12.00 each time I turn off and on the ignition key.
What was the problem with your dome light and how did you solve it.
