If I leave my van sitting a day or two, then when I start driving I am now getting a dashboard alert for "low brake fluid, ABS, and "stability system". HOWEVER - it has been in the garage twice now to check and both times - brake fluid normal brakes "act" normal I don't know how to test for ABS. I also have a 1/2 burnt-out (?) dial on my dashboard - but haven't found the right fuse yet to replace to see if it fixes - that's been that way a long time. (over a year) Am I just having instrument dashboard electronic problems? Onstar initially had the same reading of the warning, but then they tested the van again and said there isn't a problem. Onstar person said they actually test the vehicle - not just repeat what warnings a vehicle kicks on. Presently Onstar is NOT issuing a warning, but the van 'is'. Usually when I drive a few miles, that warning thing goes off and stays off. As long as I drive my van daily, I don't see the warning. Any insight you can offer would help. Van has about 85,000 miles - lightly driven. Most days, I'm driving under 3 miles a day. Thank you. (Brake fluid level still is fine.)
If your hub (wheel bearing) is starting to go bad, the sensor can fault as well for the ABS (stabilitrack, etc) as it is all inside the hub assembly. Whatever the issue, once it is resolved, the light will go out. A scan should tell you which wheel is throwing you the code.
The instrument cluster can be taken out pretty easily (2 trim screws and 4 on cluster itself I think) and the bulbs are easy to put out and replace. My cluster was replaced under warranty for 1 burnt out bulb and got a reman that crapped out after a year now out of warranty.
You need to find a repair shop or dealership that can actually
work on today's vehicles & find ALL of the vehicles problems
& resolve them
Do not remove any battery cables, there is nothing to reset
& all data needed to resolve some of the problem will be gone

try checking the brakes itself or your rotors. that should be the problem.
SOURCE: got stuck on slick icy
due to icy temperature the your brake fluid froze i suggest that you might flash the brake fluid..every 2 yrs the two thumbs up to flash your brake fluid because when it get old due the boiling point went low that can cause or losing brake in high or low temp..let me know what happen after flashing your old brake fluid
SOURCE: abs and park brake lights come on together
There is an ABS sensor on each wheel. Check each one and make sure they are plugged in first. If they all are plugged in, then you may need to replace one or more of them. You can usually see if they are bad. Hope this helps.

to reset the computer, which stores that info...disconnect the battery for 2 minutes and connect it back up again.
SOURCE: Brake Warning Lamp On
No.
It might be in the switch for the parking brake. Try to release it a little more with your hands. It's either in the parking brake system or the regular brake system. Anything ABS has it's own warning light. Have it checked by a tech; it's a safety item, ok?

Yes - read owner's manual - not helpful. Also read your posting about disconnecting battery 2 minutes to reset obd system. This isn't my area of expertise - does that mean just disengage the battery cables? Is there anything I need to know to re-engage it again for safety reasons?
