2004 saturn ion driver power windows switch will not work. Fuse good and passenger window switch works. The switch unit is good had a new on put on still did now work. Problems seems to be in wiring after the split off to the passenger window switch. No visiable signs of electrical fire the wires look good. What could be causing this problem?

Pull the rubber boot for the wiring harness in the door hinge area. I would suspect cut wires. Have the same issue. Bad design. What else is new.

Power windows & door locks not working. I removed the wiring harness between body & door and replaced 5 broken wires.
Working fine now.

Just had the same deal...when I pulled the rubber boot for the wiring harness, 4 of the major wires were cut. We used 12 gauge wire to bridge the area and she's as good as new. I'll consider replacing the wire harness at some point, but this is a good bandaid for now.

Try to unplug the window motor using a test light prob the plug check for power and ground at plug while operating the switch in the up position one wire should have power the other ground , and the one with the power in the up position, will be ground in the down position as well as the ground in the up position will now be positive in the down position

2004 Saturn Ion. No power at fuse 11 (ignition), fuse good. Vehicle does not crank.

After you disconnect the battery, you have to reset the security system. The immobilizer is stopping the car from starting.

The rear windows on my '04 Saturn Ion won't open from any of the controls.

Rear Passenger Power Window Operation
The rear passenger power window switches receive battery voltage through the window lockout control circuit if the window lockout function is disabled. Ground for the rear passenger power window motors is supplied through normally closed up and down contacts of both the rear passenger power window switches and the driver power window switch. When the either rear passenger power window switch is placed in the down position, the power window motor down control circuit is switched to 12 volts and is applied to the down side of the rear passenger power window motor. Since the other side of the rear passenger power motor is connected to ground through the normally closed up contacts of both the rear passenger and driver power window switches, the window travels down. By placing the rear passenger power window switch in the up position, the polarity of the power window motor is reversed and the window travels up.
The rear passenger power windows can also be controlled from the driver power window switch.

Did you try pushing the lock out switch on the drivers master switch ?

Rear power windows will not work, front windows are fine and fuse is not blown.

is the window lock switch on?

If not you may have a loose plug on the bottom of the switch. there are two on the master switch.

You can also try hitting the inner door panel very hard (on the affected door) whilst pressing the window button down. Many times GM window regulator motors stick and seem defective. GM makes a killing on replacing units that are just fine.
