I dont know about disc brakes but if it is drum take out the inside of the brake assembly as far as you can plow out with air and spray liquid wrench on it and put it back to gether an And you should be good. My uncle had that problem on a chevy.
Abs which stands for anti brake system has failed. In most cases replacing the control senor for abs will fix the problem. Where it is located on your car i dont know . Call your local autozone and they will help you out... Hope this helps and Please rate this post.
when the abs light comes on your car is letting you know that it has shut down the abs system because of a problem. so you are braking with regular conventional brakes which is perfectly safe. any time a component of the antilock brake system malfuntions the abs system is shut off and the light will come on to let you know. the most common problem is that the wheel speed sensors go bad. a trouble code will be stored in the abs control module you can have the abs module scanned to see what the problem may be. But dont worry you car is safe to drive. you just dont have the antilock brake option.
the abs light will always stay on even if you pull abs main fuse ,usually its awheel sensor on frt hubs ,broken wire around upper control arm,you can visually inspect,i will not recomend pulling abs light from dash.
Get your abs checked out. If you want, check it yourself on an empty street, just be ready to have a dead spot on your tires if your not quick.
drive as at a decent speed where allowed (5 mph should be good) and floor the breaks... If your abs works, then you need to find out why the light is on. If they dont work, then you know that something is wrong with the ABS module in your car and also need to get it checked out.
Listen to the car... if it tells you somethings wrong (ie- lights on the dash..) usually something is.
