Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor. It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. SOURCE: crank angle sensor location

The crank sensor is always located next to the crankshaft pulley. it will be inserted into the block with the top part of the housing half way out. you cant miss the wires leading into the tip of the housing next to the crank shaft pulley.

SOURCE: mitsubishi outlander cooling fans not operating

There is a Recall to replace your cooling fan module because of this concern.

Open your hood and look at the black box bolted to your radiator fan by the battery. If it does not have a green dot on it, you have not had the replacement fan module installed.

Contact your local dealer with your VIN handy to verify the recall has not been done and to schedule an appointment.

If the recall has been done, verify if you have power coming out of the module to the fans, as the fans do burn out eventually.... but rarely both at once.

2006 Mitsubishi Outlander : why won't it start , AFTER Crank Sensor replaced?

Why did you replace the sensor in the first place is the first question. If it already didn't start then the crank sensor was not the problem, crank sensor faults can be logged for other reasons. If it did start put the old one back in and try again.

2003 mitsubishi outlander died at stop light. wont start. turns over and has a full tank of gas. is getting fuel to engine.

very poss it could be crank sensor ,broken wire ? timing belt? advise installing scan tool that reads live data check eng rpm on scan tool see if shows eng rpm while cranking , poss remove upper timing belt cover make sure is turning and not damaged, poss computer related problem or power to eng systems would have to check for power at fuel injs and check for ground pulse with logic probe or led test light if crank sensor ok also check for spark at plugs with special plug tester and check codes first
