Does a 2000 chevy tracker have an electric fuel pump?

Yes , of course it does . all vehicles have them .
The fuel pump is an electric pump that is controlled by the powertrain control module through the fuel pump relay. When the PCM commands the fuel pump to operate, an impeller is driven by an electric motor in the pump assembly. The pump impeller causes the fuel in the tank to be drawn into the fuel pump inlet port. The fuel is then pumped out under pressure through the fuel feed pipe and hoses to the fuel rail and the fuel injectors. The fuel pressure is maintained when the fuel pump is not running by a pressure control valve located within the pump. Excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank by the fuel return pipe and hoses. The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank and is a part of the fuel sender assembly. The fuel sender assembly has to be removed from the fuel tank in order to inspect or replace the fuel pump.

I have 2008 GMC sierra 5.3 L with a new fuel pump. And no power to the pump. Any ideas where to look?

Fuel Pump Flow Control Module (FPCM) - LMF
The fuel pump flow control module (FPCM) is a serviceable GMLAN module. The FPCM receives the desired fuel pressure message from the engine control module (ECM) and controls the fuel pump located within the fuel tank to achieve the desired fuel pressure. The FPCM sends a 25 KHZ PWM signal to the fuel pump, and pump speed is changed by varying the duty cycle of this signal. Maximum current supplied to the fuel pump is 15 amps. A liquid fuel pressure sensor provides fuel pressure feedback to the FPCM.
Electronic Returnless Fuel System (ERFS) - LMF
The electronic returnless fuel system is a microprocessor controlled fuel delivery system which transports fuel from the tank to the fuel rails. It functions as an electronic replacement for a traditional, mechanical fuel pressure regulator. A pressure vent valve within the fuel tank provides an added measure of fuel pump flow control module (FPCM). Desired fuel pressure is commanded by the engine control module (ECM), and transmitted to the FPCM via a GMLAN serial data message. A liquid fuel pressure sensor provides the feedback the FPCM requires for Closed Loop fuel pressure control.

The engine control module (ECM) sends the fuel enable signal to the fuel pump control module (FPCM). The control module monitors the voltage on the fuel pump relay control circuit. If the control module detects an incorrect voltage on the fuel pump relay control circuit, a fuel pump relay control DTC sets.

How to change the fuel pump on a 1996 Pontiac Transport

For 1996 Pontiac Truck Trans Sport 3.4L SFI 6cyl check this procedure for Fuel Pump... there are two different electric fuel pumps used:
- A medium pressure twin turbine pump for vehicles equipped with Throttle Body Injection (TBI). - A high pressure roller vane pump for vehicles equipped with Sequential Fuel Injection (SFI).
(see Figure 1)

d7f6f20.jpg

Fig. 1: View of the fuel pump assembly and related components
The fuel pump is mounted to the fuel sender assembly inside the fuel tank. The fuel is pumped to the engine at a specified flow and pressure by the fuel pump. Excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank by the return pipe. The fuel pump delivers a constant flow of fuel to the engine even during low fuel conditions and aggressive vehicle maneuvers.

CAUTION When working on or near the fuel tank, be sure to observe the information molded on the bottom of the tank.
Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
(see Figure 2)

Fig. 2: Exploded view of the fuel pump-to-tank mounting components
  1. Drain and remove the fuel tank.
  2. Remove the fuel sender assembly.
  3. Disassemble the fuel pump strainer and the fuel pump: Note the position of the strainer in relation to the pump.
(see Figure 3)

Fig. 4: Exploded view of the fuel pump components
    1. Remove deflector.
  1. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  2. Loosen the two connecting clamps, if equipped.
  3. Place the fuel sender assembly upside down on the work bench.
    1. Pull the fuel pump downward to remove it from the mounting bracket, then tilt the pump outward and remove it from the connecting hose or the fuel pulse dampener.
  4. It is recommended to replace the hose and clamps, if equipped.
CAUTION Do not run the pump unless submerged in fuel
To install:
  1. Push the fuel pump assembly into the attaching hose. Attach the pump electrical wires and fasten the hose clamps to the attaching hose and around the pump body, where equipped.
  2. Place the fuel tank sender and pump assembly into the fuel tank. Use a new O-ring seal during assembly.
