98 honda v6, where is the fuel filter located? Please say it is not in the fuel tank.

Instructions

• Crawl under the van near the rear bumper and locate the gas tank (large metal tublike protrusion). Find the gas line running from the end of the gas tank toward the front of the vehicle.
• 2Follow the gas line until you locate a clear plastic apparatus, which is the fuel filter.
  
• 3.
  Pry the filter from the fuel filter mount with the screwdriver; then use the pliers to pull the tubes off the ends of the fuel filter.
  
• 4Slide the gas line onto the proper sides of the new fuel filter and then slide the filter back into the mount.
  
• 5Start the car up, turning the key to "Accessories On" for 3 to 5 seconds first and then turn the car the rest of the way on. This allows the fuel pump to prime the gas line prior to the engine firing.
  

Fuel filter is located in the fuel tank with sending unit. The fuel tank is near the gear lever stick.

Fuel pump is in the tank, fuel filter is along the subframe rail by the rear wheels, either left or right side.

You might want to replace the fuel filter and check your fuel pump. If the fuel filter gets dirty it will slow or stop the fuel from going to the injectors/carb....it can also cause the injectors/carb to become fouled or blocked. Be aware that buying gasoline from a service station when they are receiving a fuel delivery is a good way of getting a lot of unwanted sediment from their tanks into yours.

All of the fuel filters with exception of the V6 Odyssey models are located on the vehicle's firewall, in line with the fuel line feeding the engine's fuel rail. The fuel filter on the 3.5L V6 Odyssey is located in the fuel tank and requires fuel pump removal to access. Fuel filters located on the firewall should be replaced if the fuel filter exhibits signs of seepage or corrosion. Always replace a fuel filter and its sealing washers if the fuel system has become contaminated, if the fuel system fuel pressure drops below specification prior to replacing the fuel pump, or whenever the fuel pump is replaced.
