SOURCE: 1991 rodeo starts chugging after engine has warmed
Mine had a similar issue. You might try changing the ignition control module in the distributor. I changed out several parts because every place that checked it said it was good. But I decided to change it and it ran fine afterwards. It should only cost around $30 for a basic unit, unless you have a shop install it. But it does sound like its something that's on the engine and has trouble operating when it gets hot.

Hi sara , I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? this may be a few posibilitys , what engine does it have in it and how many klm has it done ? did the problem gradually get worse or did itjust start one day, one more question is it a bit better until it warms up or remains the same from cold to operating temp. all of these questions will greatly help diagnose where the issue lies. hopefully I can help you
