2001 Mitsubishi Diamonte needs code for stereo to work again...

Had to jump-start my car this morning, after which the stereo wouldn't work at all and read, "CODE" when I attempted to use it. What do I have to do to make it work again, preferably without having to visit the Dealership or spend money at a Garage, etc.

After jump starting my batteries, the radio, a/c fan and horn do not work. I have checked the fuses. Could the problem be the relays?
Not that many relays would fail at once, you can swap a couple to test though....you probably spiked the bcm or the ecm when you jump started it.

Many radios have theft protection that require a code once power is lost. Look in the owner's manual, as it should be written down by whomever installed it.
Otherwise anyone selling that brand of radio can just reset the code to a new one, and tell you the new code.

When replacing radio in a mitsubishi diamonte 2002, does it have a 'kill switch' effect so that the car cannot be started? Or maybe we need to jump start it to recharge the battery?
i say charge the battery before trying anything else

if that fails temporaily replace the old radio and see if it starts
