2004 cadillac srx cd player jammed

Was listening to #4 cd, stopped for lunch, returned, radio screen read ''mech error'' and would not play or eject. Tried numerous times after shutting down auto and radio but to no avail--same message. Radio and player was installed by dealer to replace faulty original in Oct 2007.  Dealer rep says it might cost $1,000 to replace again--out of warranty.  Radio works fine.  Anyone have a thought about how to get the cd's out?  If not, I might buy the book from the library and abandon the cd player.

I had the same problem. disconnect the battery cables. then reconnect them. this will reset the cd player and it should relaese all your cd player problems.
this happened twice to me and the above worked fine both times.

I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade, the Radio is working; but the CD player is not, also have six CD's in the CD player and it won't eject them

I assume you are not getting an error displayed on the radio. There are many reasons the player may have failed, from a fuse problem (there may be a blown inline fuse on the power feed attached to the player) to a jammed disk or defective optical reader. In any case, an error should be displayed on the radio. If nothing happens when you press the eject button, I suggest you visit a dealer who should be able to manually eject the cassette.

2003 cadillac cts will not eject cd

Hi, Worst thing you done was to remove the battery, but ref: CD player look under the volume control (on/off) you should find a very small hole enough for a paper clip to be pushed in & eject the cd check your fuse since removing battery may have caused quick short touched & blown fuse. Please give feedback at [email protected] Thanks, Malcolm Campbell.

CD player in my 2004 Dodge Stratus doesn't work

are they Burned or copied CD's? CDR, CDRW? cause if they are some radios will not read them and give error messages. if not try using a lazer lens cleaner CD, they sell them at most music stores, you may have lint or dust on the CD lens with summer weather, and pollen in the air and dust, CD player lenses take a beating, so get a WET lazer lens CD cleaner, and that should help fix the problem

C D problems

Unfortunately the cd-lens are malfuctioning, probably, blocking also the ejecting tray. If so, yes it would be better to acquire a new one. As for the cd's You could, depending on the model, open the cd player but this would require special tools. The best thing would be, if you cannot open the cd player, to bring it to an authorized service, to solve the problem.
