If the air compressor is bad... check the diagram under the hood for the serpentine belt. Most vehicles will have a diagram that displays the serpentine belt path along with a part number for a shorter belt to bypass the ac compressor. If you can't find the diagram, go to your local parts store and they should be able to help.

Take off the gas tank located underneath the drivers side. There should be two brackets holding the fuel tank and you will have to take bolth thoes off but take off the front bracket off first so you can reach the hose lines connected to the fuel pump and disconect thoes (on top side of gas tank). You will have to didisconect the whireing harnes going to the fuel pump if you cant disconect it directly from the fuel pump then follow the wireing harnes to a break. You should be ready to take the fuel tank compleatly out and you will have your fuel pump facing up. There should be a locking washer with a key on it that you will tap with a screw driver counter clock wise and that ring should come off which would be holding the fuel pump down and after that you should be able to take the filter out and replace it.
Squealing is associated with belt slippage. 1) ensure that the belt is tight - at the longest distance between two pulleys it should be possible to twist the belt by about 90 degrees only. 2) with the engine running check funder the hood or the free running of the pulleys. a) Ask a colleague to engage the power steering from lock to lock and see if the power steering pump pulley does not cause slippage. b) set the air con to low and watch what happens when the compressor pump solenoid engages. If the belt begins to slip on the air con compressor pulley it is likely that the compressor is beginning to fail by seizing up. In that event preserve the belt simply switch the air con off and pray for cooler weather until the compressor can be overhauled.
So when you turn off the air con the noise stops ..
If yes then its the bearings in the Air Con pump which is driven by the same belt and when turning the r13 coolant around the bearings being dry and worn out will start to make the noise Same as the water pump does when it goes, but yours is Air Con Pump.
DONT TAKE IT OFF YOUR SELF. RON
The coolant fan is run on a relay, which should be the same number as the horn try switching them out, does the a/c work? if the a/c won't engage then fans wont come on,next with engine off can you move the blades by hand? you need to determine if it's the fan or not unhook the fan and using jumper wires hook the fan direct to the battery and see if it runs if it does then check relays and wiring
Hi ,
Yes you do have to remove the bumper and ,Air-con rad(do not disconect!!)move to offside carefully still attached and Power steering cooling pipe(do not disconect) move to nearside.Lots to undo but easy enough if car raised on axle stands or ramp.
first you should have it tested for leaks....common problems are the condensor and evaporator, possible pump...but in the long run its costly just replacing parts, have it inspected.... hope this helped....GL
if it idles rough when air con is turnd on ur idle my be running to low to start with the air con is a pump and will take power from the engine and wen u turn on ur air con there is a clutch on ur pump witch engages witch will couse the revs to drop
