It started out i thought i was out of gas, was stuck for half an hour, added fuel and it started right up.next day same thing acts like its running out of fuel. it has gotten worse now it wont start after several tries. had it towed, this morning started up just fine long enough to put it up on ramps, now it wont start.I have looked all over for an inline fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator. I can not find either. can someone tell me if there is one and where its located,or any ideas of why this is happening.
First change the inline filter and Have a fuel pump test performed before going any further...if it passes the test then next injector etc..but with this gas today...fuel pump and filters are a common failure..
The regulator is probably under the intake manifold along with your injectors...the pump is in the fuel tank and the filter is usually on the firewall...

probably not fuel filter . probably going to have to remove the upper intake and replace the fuel injector spider(fuel inj assebly) if it is droping fuel pressure it is leaking into the upper manifold

Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

MY 89 would cut off as well , replaced the air flow sensor. it works...

I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator and now I am hearing a vibrating noise from the fuel line under the truck. What do you think the problem is.
