Check fuse first with a meter ( ohms at fuse in hand or volts live)
i always use volts live, key on. to check both sides of fuse.
this never lies.
fuse that look good can in FACT be bad.
old post .
is odometer dead too?

SOURCE: fuel gauge does not work nor does the speedometer

The problem relates to one of the wire connectors going to the back of the instrument cluster. The repair is to remove the instrument cluster and install a new wire connector. For speedometer stopped working:--- It sounds like you probably have a bad speed sensor, should be one in the tranny and 1 in the rear end.Although a speed sensor is a possibility, but if sensors are checked ok then yes,a wiring fault, faulty instrument cluster. It`s a black plug which a horse shoe shaped collar around it on the bottom which is white,it is on the back of the transmission on the left side. it is a plastic sensor with a 2 wire connector. you need a 1? socket or wrench to remove it.----------For fuel gauge not working:----You probably have a poor connection or wiring or ground problem in the electrical circuit leading to the gauge cluster. Poor connection in instrument cluster, or the cluster control module. Check the ground wire connected to the back of instrument cluster. If its shorted or loose.check to see if the black/green (ground wire for gauges)wire is loose or broken off of the ground lug on the passender side of engine behind oil filter if its not broken try removing and cleaning connectors - then reinstalling. pulling instrument cluster and cleaning contacts on connectors also helps. If its due to dirty or loose connection problem.-------- The pink w/black stripe wire which supposedly is the wire between the dash fuel gauge and the in-tank fuel sender. With the key on this wire should have power. If no power to this wire then there is short confirmed.Pull the electrical connector at the tank and the ground wire which attaches to the sender is grounded. ------------ now to remove the instrument cluster, you will need the location of screws. To get that please click on the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/02/1992-jeep-cherokee-sport-instrument.html ----------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Is there a fuse for gas gauge and speedometer for a 2002 gmc Sonoma

no, your fuel gauge is controlled by a fuel pump relay under your hood and if that doesn't fix it...it's the sending unit which is inside the fuel pump, inside your gas tank...speedometer is electronically controlled from your computer...if its not working it's your relay which can be found behind your speedometer...you would have to remove it from your dashboard to get to it.

How do I fix my gauges? (Ie, gas gauge, temp gauge, speedometer, odometer)

Fuses? Blown fusible link? Most gauges work by getting 12 volts from the ignition switch when on, and getting a ground from the sender. Often the 12 volt supply wire goes to more than one so if dead, both will fail. If you have a wiring diagram, you might find which wire to cluster should be hot, and trace it backward to find the issue. Easier to check for ignition switch feed first.

2005 FORD MUSTANG--FUEL GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK--WHAT'S LEAST EXPENSIVE SOLUTION

This is due to a problem with the gears in the speedometer and fuel gauge; there was a manufacturing defect that ford fixed in later years. The cheapest solution is to replace these gauges. I found a local mechanic that knew how to fix it, and did the job for $60. I recommend checking craigslist for a local person, because this is a very common problem.

My temp gauge and fuel quit working

This is pretty common on the 2005 Mustangs, it's caused by failing stepper motors in the instrument cluster, they control the movement of the gauges. Repair is around $180 and there's a guide on how to fix them yourself here - 2005 Mustang speedometer problem

The dashboard

You may have a couple separate concerns. The fuel gauge if it is on empty may have a hole in the float. The speedometer odometer and trip meter is probably a broken gear in the speedo assembly. If the speedometer itself works it is getting a signal from the speed sensor.

Instument Guages

well the issue is youe enitre gauge cluster i do understand that your speedometer is working but it is a cable speedometer not electronic like everything else in the gauge cluster so first i would recomend checking the voltage getting to your gauge cluster then just replace the guagecluster they are really cheap i a salvage and not hard to install at all but the cluster itself is not very comon to go out so make sure you check voltage to it first i wouldnt want you to go through buying and replaceing the cluster and that not fix it
