Check fuel pressure at fuel rail. Must have 45-50 PSI. There is also a fuel pump on the frame before the engine and after the fuel tanks. POPING occurs with lean fuel mixture or crossed plug wires.

2000 gmc jimmy 4x4 p0300. Replaced cap, rotor, wires, plugs, map sensor, checked icm. Nothing has helped

Just a thought, pull the dist.cap and make sure the rotor has
no side to side play ,thinking maybe a bad upper bushing in
the dist. Also,if the EGR valve has carbon and soot built up
on the piston it will make it idle really poor ,but run ok.
Might pull the EGR and clean it with intake cleaner.
Hope this helps.

Hello...I have a '95 GMC K2500 Suburban with a 5.7L that failed a recent emissions test. I replaced the spark plugs, removed and cleaned the EGR...cap, rotor wires look OK...truck re-tested worst

Retarding the timing will cool the combustion which will lower the Hydrocarbon number,it will run bad but after a passed e test put the timing back to an advanced state which may help with the stumble.

Reason for loss power up hills 1994 f150 5.0 liter

sounds like either a vacuum leak (check the bottom of the "tomatoe juice can" for starters) or a bad or plugged egr valve or egr solenoid.
check engine lite refers to emissions probs only...most likely egr or vac leak. Had the same prob on my 95 5.0 f150...needed new can and egr valve.

How to troubleshoot bad EGR circuit on 1988 Ford Ranger Injected

Have you checked for vacuum leaks at all lines and going to the MAP sensor? It also has a TPS(throttle position sensor) and CPS(crankshaft position sensor),I think.
I'm thinking vacuum leak or TPS. don-ohio

2001 S-10 with 4.3 misfire

Check for vacum leaks make sure hoses arn't cracked and are routed correctly. check for leaks at throtle body, intake manifold, egr valve and pcv system. also check to make sure pcm is grounded correctly. Check injecter harness connectors aswell.... Hope this helps if all this looks good... you may have to take it to a shop where they can make sure the injecters are firing and compresion is correct.

Good luck :)

I agree, jumped timing. Check to make sure the dist is tight. Than check for tdc on the #1 cylinder. When the #1 cyl is TDC the rotor should be pointing to that wire on the cap. Take the cap off while checking. Also is easier to turn motor by hand without plugs in motor.
