Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

2005 Ford Five Hundred. Once the car warms up and you try to come to stop without putting in neutral the car just revs high but won't move.

Question edited into written English.
Question moved to model category.

It sounds like you have and unusual and flawed driving technique.

Manual or Automatic?

Automatic. You never use neutral unless you are in a car wash that drags your car by the wheels. Decelerate, foot on the brake and into Park. Your right foot does both brake and accelerator, left foot does nothing. I saw a lady 2 days ago with left foot on the brake and right foot on the accelerator.

Manual. Downshift through the gears, right foot on the brake, left foot on the clutch and into neutral and hand brake on.

If you are doing that, the vehicle needs diagnosis why it is happening.

While i am driving my 2001 e-350 goes into neutral what is wrong

Though it will not harm your transmission to shift into Neutral while your vehicle is in motion, the additional wear on your brakes by leaving the transmission in Drive will be negligible over the life of the brake pads. It is that minor. NEVER, EVER go into neutral while slowing down to a stop, for 3 reasons: 1.

Front wheel bearings, C V joints? 1989 Ford Fiesta L automatic transmission

Put the car on jack stands, don't start it. Put it in neutral and turn the front tires by hand and feel and listen for the noise. If there is nothing, start it and put it in drive and see what you can hear.. Then you can remove the tires and check brake pads, etc. Bearings and CV joints don't usually do this unless they have been totally neglected and failed.

I HAVE A 1998 CADILLAC CATERA V6 AUTOMATIC ENGINE DIES IN DRIVE

Yes, most likely a fault in the auto transmission, and the car has shut itself off to prevent further damage.

Automatic ford escort 1998 will not shift out of "park"

There is a switch between the brake and the transmission. I forget what its called but unless you have your brake pedal pressed your car will not shift out of park. If you do have your brake pedal pressed there may be something wrong with the sensor.

1997 suburban 2wheel drive when i put it in drive doesnt want to

Unless you have run over something or something has hit the linkage that you may possibly repair to adjust the gear locations to their proper place on the trans, you must get trans checked out.
