2003 Hyundai Elantra - diable alarm

if it's a 2001 my info doesn't show the 2001 Elantra GTS as coming with an alarm. GT does have keyless/alarm. Are you sure its not just a keyless entry system? Test it by doing the following: Close all doors and sit in car, 'arm' the alarm with the remote, wait about a minute and open the door from the inside...if the horn starts beeping you have an alarm. If nothing happens, you only have keyless entry.
Anyway disarming a ETACS alarm system is not a option.

Try YouTube. Type disable car alarm or car alarm keeps going off. You'll find several videos of people fixing alarm malfunctions.

there is no fuse. it's part of the body module and it's not recognizing the key.

You can buy a new key chain remote on ebay, or go to hyundai dealership, I would not disable security, as one thing electrical goes wrong it can cause other things to not work properly. This car has built in computer system.

The OE alarm is part of the ETACS
To disable it:
1) Sound the alarm
2) Put the key in the ignition and turn to start
3) Hold there until the alarm turns off
You should now be able to start the vehicle. The alarm will remain dis-armed until armed through RKE

ok are you ready, first turn the ign on but do not turn the key to the start position, the alarm should sound, as soon as the alarm stops sounding, count 10 seconds then start the vehicle,this will disable the alarm unless you set it with the remote, if that doesent disable it repeat above again it has to be 10 second count after alarm stops..

There is NO kill switch on the 2000 Elantra... HOWEVER, there is a thing called the Key Fob (keyless remote entry system). There is, however, a system in place called the 'starter kill' circuit and it is activated when the burglar alarm goes off.... it's called the burglar alarm relay and it is activated to prevent the engine starter system from being used. There are three ways to get the engine started in such a circumstance... 1. use the key fob to 'disarm' the system... 2. put the key in the ignition and turn it to the 'RUN" position and wait until the alarm stops (horn stops beeping and the parking lights stop flashing), then the engine will start.... 3. pull the starter relay from the UnderHood junction box and bypass the starter circuit (key in ignition and in the 'RUN' position), jumper the starter solenoid circuit to energize the solenoid to start cranking the engine -- it should start then.
