On Ford motors the cylinders are numbered front to back
on V6 & V8 motors, the cylinder that is closest to the front of the engine is 1
That back is 123 0r 1234 The other bank is 456 or 5678
The dist is clockwise.

Firing order 1999 mitsubishi diamonte need diagram

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6

The rotor spins counter clockwise and bottom of the distributor cap is the number one spark plug lead.

Firing order

Auto Zone has the manual for this on line. Note that if you have a V8, the distributor shaft may rotate either clockwise or counter clockwise, depending on whether Chevy or Olds made the engine. So, with the cap off, turn your engine over to see which way the shaft rotates.
