I have a 2008 Chevy Malibu. car was in a accident and had heavy font end damage. The body shop fix it and the the driver side mirror doesn't work and the trunk release button doesn't work either. they both work fine the day of the crash and i used the trunk release after the crash to get my stuff out when they towed it to the body shop. Now the body shop told me that they weren't working before they received the car and that the trunk release button isn't hook up at all. So my main question is how are they hook up so i can further my argument with the body shop and insurance company. Thank you for your time.
Well. these items are primarily connected through the passenger compartment fuse panel. The rear view mirror may not be operating because they disconnected it when replacing the corner panel or possibly cut one of the wires while installing the new one.
As for the trunk latch release I would need to know if the switch is located on the door or by the floor. If it IS on the door then it could be a similar issue as explained in the previous solution.
SOURCE: Oil pouring out of my engine
I assume your engine is a 1.9 TDI. If so you certainly DO NOT have any
problem with the timing CHAIN or CHAIN TENSIONER as these engines do
NOT use a chain. They use a Timing BELT. A crack in this belt cover
should NOT leak any oil, as the belt runs totally dry.
However...A VERY common fault with this model when crashed is A cracked
Sump / Oil Pan.If this is the case its tricky but Not a huge repair.
Have another check done
Hope this is some help to you.
Good luck
John

No its not its a power supply to your radioit can be the way it is powered to the radio or your ground trap to the radio has fallen loose whatever the case the power supply is loose and it can be related to the trunk that is where your CD changer are at so the power to that might be interruptted

If it has the electric trunk release, the button could be in the glove box.
Otherwise you may have to remove the back seat to gain entry to the trunk.
