Avideo showing the setting of 2001 mazda mpv timming & carm

If you have a (DOHC- Dual Over Head Cam) Engine: This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzBRej_x1MM might be just for you since it will show you the basics about setting your engine timing manually on your own. I used the concepts in this video and added my own educated thoughts, and I was up and running in about 90 minutes. This following video also shows you how to replace a Water Pump, and more about engine timing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2EVZ01eEwU

How to set timing for a 2000 Nisan Altima, just replace timing chain

The cam and crank timing are the only thing that you can change. When you put them together with the chain, the crank should have been set to TDC on number cylinder 1 and there may have been marks on the cam gear and the head to show where it should be set when the chain is connected.

Audi a4 1.8 please help with the timing settings of the timing belt and how do you reset it in the correct order

Hmmm. This is not something that one wants to get wrong. This is an 'interference' engine, and valve timing gone bad will wreck valves/head.

There are timing marks on the crankshaft sheave and on the camshaft drive. (Basically, this is done with the engine at top dead center. I don't think the pictures are that good on this site - i'm not sure you could see if I copied and pasted - but crash around the internet and, depending how computer-ish you are, you will find A4 manuals that show these marks. (The official Audi 'manual' is called ETKA and is killer huge. There are some copies of Bentley manual sections kicking around. There is a copy or two of the Haynes manual...) While you are getting the manual parts that show the marks, you will also get a diagram that shows the crankshaft rotation.

Once you have the marks (and make sure and then make sure again, and then make sure a third time that you do) the 'tight' side of the belt is the one on which the crankshaft rotation 'pulls' the camshaft, and the 'tensioner' side of the belt is the one on which the rest of the belt heads back up to the camshaft. So you have the timing right when the marks are where they are supposed to be when the tight side of the belt is tight.
When you have it right, but only after you have it right, and you are sure, then pull the pin that releases the tensioner - and puts tension on that side of the timing belt. (It is possible to recover the tensioner and re-set the belt if you have pulled the pin too soon, but it is not fun).

I need to know how to find/set timing marks for 2002 Kia Sedona and head bolt torque specs

The head bolt torque on a 2002 Kia Optima is 45 ft/lbs of torque. Always make sure you use a good torque wrench to get it right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need a picture of the timing marks for Jeep 4.0

Timing the Cam to the Crank

There are several ways to time the cam to the crank. Be sure to check the manual before you install the timing chain or belt.

  • Some timing sprockets are properly timed when the marks face each other.
  • On others, there must be a certain number of chain links between the marks.
  • Sometimes chains have colored links that must be aligned with the marks on the sprockets.
  • Some overhead cams have a mark on the cam gear that lines up with a mark on the cylinder head when the timing mark on the damper is at the TDC mark.
Align the timing marks for the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets before removing the timing belt or chain.

If the old parts are available, carefully compare the new gears or sprockets with the old ones. Check the keyway and timing marks just in case there might have been an error made in manufacturing. Sprockets are sometimes stamped backward. Its much better to find the problem during assembly, rather than waiting until problems show up after reassembly and reinstallation.

Maintaining Valve Timing

During a valve job, it is essential to keep the timing chain or belt in place to maintain correct valve timing. Position the number one cylinder at TDC. Some overhead cam engines use a single long chain for a cam drive. The chain can be wedged against its guides with a tapered block of wood.
the chain tensioner on some ohc engines must be wedged to keep the chain in position during cylinder head removal. courtesy of nissan motors.

Some engines have a lower and upper chain. These engines do not require special attention to wedging the chain. Be sure to look for hidden head bolts and check the repair manual before removing the OHC head.

Need timing specs for 1997 subaru impreza 2.2

These are specs for a 2.2L which will also work for the 2.5L cuz they are the same picture. Have fun and remember, if you get the timing marks wrong the on the single overhead cam(1st picture) you won't hurt the engine, you'll just have to re-time it. But, if you DO get the timing marks wrong on the duel over head cam engine(2nd picture) you will bend every single valve in both cylinder heads of that engine. If this is your first time(I have to assume it is just to be safe you see) I recommend 2 people performing this task, it's just better that way. Good luck!!!!!!!42245806
