If car is rear wheel drive.....Check you Universal joints on your driveshaft
Could also be Trailing Arm bushings.if you have coil Springs on your rear axle. These bushings keep the axle from rotating. So when you do that Clutch jumpy thing the axle is trying to rotate and with bad bushings it could be 'banging'
run fault codes and check for knock sensor problem. The noise may be detonation from incorrect air/ fuel/ timing that is not being corrected from --knock sensor---O2 sensors-MAP/MAF sensors.
Likely a bad spring on the clutch pedal. You could try lubricating it and the contact points, if it doesn't go away you may need to replace the spring.
You need to get the clutch replaced a.s.a.p.! If you continue to drive the vehicle with it making the noise it very well could be the clutch itself coming apart or it could be the throw out bearing but either way it will end up doing more damage to your vehicle and costing more to repair!
Plus, it will leave you stranded when it does come apart!
And, worst case scenario, if the clutch happens to come apart at higher r.p.m.s. it could damage the transmission or vehicle! I would highly recommend taking it in for repairs a.s.a.p. as the longer you put it off, the worst it is going to be as you can tell from how bad it is getting.
hi this could be a couple of things, first the clutch thrust bearing might be u/s this would make a grinding/humming noise, if its a knocking noise, it could be the big ends are warn and the shells need to be replaced, or worse still a new engine...hope this helps
A failing AC compressor clutch will make noise more like a rattle but it will become hot enough when it is failing that the rubber grommets around the clutch plate will begin to "stink" as they begin to melt and fall out. It will smell like burnt rubber smoke.
If you remove the drive belt you can try to see if there is play in the pulley for the AC compressor but you won't be able to "engage" the clutch to test it (uses electrical switching). If you can spin the pulley and it makes noise, suspect a failing compressor clutch.
While you have the drive belt off spin the water pump pulley and you should only hear a gurgling noise from water in the motor being pushed and no metal on metal noise whatsoever. If you hear a clunking noise when the motor runs you could also have a worn motor mount so you would want to check those also.
Hello, I see you have a trailblaber with a knocking noise. It sounds like you have an electric fan clutch issue. Believe it or not your vehicle has an electric fan clutch. It looks just like the older non-electric but if you look on the driver side of the fan shroud that is the wire connector you see. It is an exspensive part just for the clutch but thats exactly what you are describing. It doesn't get louder just fast with rpms. Please rate my answer, Thank you
